This is actually a huge thing for me and involves a lot more than just what the title says. I changed A LOT in such a short period of time, and I think its because of the new school that I'm in, the people environment is amazing.
I was always the one who NEVER talked or did anything, heck, just last year my speech professor forced me into a group for a group speech because I didn't want to find a group, and by the end of the1st year of college, I didn't know a single name. Same thing in high school, in fact, the only two people I talk to at all now normally are from high school and I only really talked to 6 people in all of high school.
Its totally different in my new school, the semester started in March, so less than a month and I only have class 3 days a week so I've only been in school for less than 12 days, and I already have my own full group in one class and at least one friend in every class, AND I ACTUALLY TALK.
In one of these classes, we had to share our homework and I usually ask to go 2nd or 3rd. Back in high school I always asked to go last and I prayed the the class would end before I could go, its totally different now, and I'm kind of guessing that this might have happened from all the people I talk to here.
Back to the girl, talking to girls is rare for me really, and I already talked to 4 already, one in my English class where I made fun of her grammer and I think we might already be decent acquaintances. Most of the time I talked to them because the teacher would tell us to get a partner and this time for one class I actually went to a girl and talked to her as my partner. In all of high school and middle school I only talked to 3 girls in total, so this is epic for me.
