Sorry, but I am really not happy about this.

Last night, i found out there was an update for windows 7, I was like ''Okay, i'll update it'' It had to do 94 installations or some crap and it took a while, I was so tired that I just let it on for the entire night. Then, like an hour ago, I wake up and I find out IT'S STILL UPDATING. It's been like 9 hours, no joke.

But THEN, I find out it's STUCK at 80. I can't turn it off, You can say ''Well turn it off'' I did that once and my hard drive broke. I am completely lost right now. I bought the PC in Egypt so I can't get a refund I think.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I know how frustrating their constant updating can be, but this is just annoying... I would suggest letting it run for another while, see if it just froze and if it'll start working again on it's own. Since it is updating, I would highly suggest letting it finish. It's updating software, and it could make something malfunction if you interrupt, but I think you already know the risks... Especially since it broke your hard drive once.

Eventually your computer should just shut off and turn back on and you can enter safe mode and install the updates manually.
It's been awhile since I've had windows 7 but I'm pretty sure that will work, if not refer to the link Here

WARNING THE FOLLOWING ENTRY IS NOT SERIOUS PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER USING IT FOR ADVICE (sorry for all caps)
Kill it with fire before it lays eggs!
No really, updates always happen. If you don't feel like doing them at the moment just click "later." Even if it's just the update is taking forever, just be patient, remember it will get done sometime soon. It's not like it'l be doing the update forever!

imamonster : I had a new laptop that needed install over 100 updates. I literally fell asleep while it was updating and it still didnt finish afterwards...but it worth the wait. The last thing you want is someone hacking your computer.

supercool22 : The thing is, it was stuck.

Eventually, I had to force turn it off, I had to do all this stuff, download a thing from microsoft.com  because my update folder was corrupt, eventually after a lot of wait it's working. I am gonna buy a new PC, though.

fireking1058 : Lol.. My update folder was corrupted, it was not going to finish, 100 percent sure of it.  So, yes. It would take forever.

You should stay on top of your updates instead of letting them pile up. If you do them in a timely fashion it really doesn't take that lobg.

fireking1058 : It's actually impossible to install update in safe mode because of first off safe mode only loads the bare minimum of your system. So you will have no Internet drivers (LAN or Wireless connection), no sound driver, no graphics card drivers just the base graphics driver. And secondly Safe mode is for trouble shooting and It is also widely used for removing rogue security software.
