Things like what starter should I use well bulbasuar is a ok choice but squirtle and charmander are great and the last stage of charmander is charizard and for squirtle the last stage is blastios and charizard can fly but blastios can use surf now next the choice of catching weedle or  caterpie so weedle is a bee and caterpie is a butterfly you'll know what I mean when they evolve so next should you hunt for Pikachu well yeah and use a thunder stone on him to get a riachu and the best starter that will come in handy is squirtle and weedle is a bee may I say more and Pikachu is boss and should be evolved so a riachu now that's not all but if you need more help i'll make more  guilds.

It's really your call on the starters; they're all pretty decent.

I would get like a Rattata or Paras as a HM slave for Cut, Flash, etc.

Also, from what I recall Pikachus are pretty rare in Viridian Forest.
