Well I'm going to do a more official review layout for my thing XD
Animation - 8/10
Much better than the last one, but still had quite a few errors, though nowhere near as noticeable as some from the first. I had to watch it a couple times to get even half of them, but that's just me.
Music 7/10
The opening and ending credit songs were a bit bland in my opinion, but the main portion of the music in the movie was good, despite Trixie.
Story 10/10
The story in this movie majorly out-shined it's predecessor in my opinion, mainly due to the fact that it didn't seem rushed and it actually looked like they took the time to make it right, instead of just throwing a story together in thirty minutes and giving it to the animators in a disorganized mess to start on. The villains in the movie were actual villains, instead of just bumbling teenagers trying a fool plot that wouldn't have worked in the first place. Also, the sirens are better villains than I have seen in the show thus far, and I say that because they are terrifying in their own right since they both cause and feed off of conflict. The "Mane 6" couldn't even beat them by themselves, they won by what amounts to a stroke of pure luck that Sunset Shimmer had the bravery to help them instead of taking the easy way out and running for it.
Characters 9/10
Now I know I gave a bit of info on this section in the Story section, but this movie had a diverse cast that in my opinion stood out from the last or even the main show. Not only did you hear more of the background characters talk than ever before, but they actually have a semi-major role to play in the plot. Even in the first Equestria Girls movie, you only heard maybe one or two background characters talk. Even Trixie, who plays a fairly important role in the show as Twilight's rival, pretty much, only got one or two lines in the entire movie. As for every one's favorite imperial guard/rocker to hate, I think he portrayed the classic bumbling teen who has fallen head over heels quite nicely, which was pretty much what I think his main role to begin with.
Overall 8.5/10
Obviously there was room for improvement, as there always is. The animation was a bit sloppy in places but you had to actually look to see it. It is definitely better than the first in most aspects, but the music from the first was better in my opinion, honestly. I can't think of a better story for an Equestria Girls movie though, and if I do I more than likely will end up changing the story rating, but this one, pardon the obvious pun, rocked.
