I would say Yukari Yakumo from Touhou is my favorite video game character. Arguably the strongest youkai in Gensokyo, she has the power to manipulate boundaries, and that is a really cool and powerful ability. She is the ultimate mastermind and on a side note, she is pretty beautiful, probably one of the best looking Touhou characters (And considering how many Touhou characters there are, thats saying A LOT).

My favorite is Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He was/is a very creative and stylish character and caused a billion clones (not a bad thing when done right). I also like Polterguy from Haunting. He is a cheesy 90's stereotype and I love it.

If I have to pick one favourite, it's Mario. He's funny, strong and athletic (even though he has that belly) and you can put him in many kind of games: Platform, RPG, racing, fighting, golfing, tennis, football, partying... where can't you put him actually?

Other favourites are Link, as he's a brave swords fighter and the idea of fighting with a sword seems more realistic than jumping on foes. And Sonic is great though, it just feels awesome to run so quick in his games.
