So, I just bought a data plan for the first time ever and I had a quick question. Lets say I have data and I go to the library to use my device. I end up using both the data and the wi fi at the same time. Would that be a problem? Would that mess anything up when I'm on the internet?

I think that's what you're asking about. I'm not exactly sure what you meant by using both data and wi-fi at the same time. Usually the use of one will stop the use of the other.

Depends on the company you have, actually, I believe. I have heard of a company or two that doesn't care if you are on wi fi or not. But generally speaking? As long as you see your phone saying that it is connected to the wi fi, then it should not count against you as long as your phone is continuously connected to the wi fi.

As far as I know, your phone will rather use wifi instead of 3G or 4G internet. That's because it will be useful for updating apps and other stuff.
