Many of you are aware that a demo for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS was released in the Nintendo eShop yesterday. If you haven't heard of it yet, download it now! The demo includes Mario, Link, Pikachu, Megaman, and Villager as playable characters, Battlefield as the only stage (plus Omega Battlefield, the Final Destination Form), and I believe every item (yay!).

So who is your favorite character in the demo?

Mario - My 3rd favorite. Mario actually seems like a very good character. I don't know if this was in Brawl, but his Mario Tornado (down-air) now actually launches after the final hit, making it a very powerful move. His up-tilt is also very important now.
Link - My least favorite. Seems basically the same as Brawl, though I think his gale boomerang is now a bit more powerful. Link is OK, maybe everything ever-so-slightly buffed from Brawl except his speed (he seems more slow now). He's a pretty boring character to play as.
Pikachu - My 4th favorite. So lovely, but I think I like Mario slightly more. Down-smash seems awesome now. One big change was Pikachu's thunder attack, which now meteor smashes, passes through platforms if you are on the ground and hits platforms if you are in the air, but has a
much smaller hitbox. Skull Bash now goes really far, even if uncharged.
Megaman - My 2nd favorite. His special moveset is virtually useless except for his recovery, but I really like the rest of his attacks (especially his side-smash and up-aerial). His dash attack though... I bet it's the best dash attack in the finished game.
Villager - My favorite. Villager is awesome. Can pocket items and projectiles, has a bunch of very powerful attacks, just really great overall. The only thing I don't like is Villager's dash attack (too slow and hard to hit with). His "pocket ability" also has a few invincibility frames, which means he can pass through Link's final smash. Also, Villager's recovery is insanely good (way better than even Jigglypuff's). Villager can go from just above the blast line back onto Battlefield and can go underneath battlefield to go from one side to the other.

SO WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE IN THE DEMO?

I'm loving Villager so far. His specials are all really fun to use, although I wish his side+b didn't have such a huge delay. His smash attacks are good, and he just feels like a great character, and is for sure my favorite in the demo.
For other characters, I liked Mario much more in the demo than in Brawl. His fireball somehow feels better, and his down+b has actually helped me out to KO a few times. Still not great, but better than in brawl.
I actually liked Link here. A side smash followed by a standard A is pretty strong, his dash attack is stronger, and he still has his great arial up and down moves. Still, I'll most likely prefer Toon Link's extra speed and recovery.
Pikachu felt good, and I like how his down+b has sort have been nerfed in terms of range, but gains the meteor smashing. Still gonna be a great annoying spam move.
I did not like Megaman at all, unfortunately. His standard A has almost zero knockback, and it feels much too weak. And I don't think his strength makes up for his lack of recovery for me. I doubt I'll use him all that much.

My favourite was Mario, I really liked villager and mega man too, But out of all these characters mario is my favourite, I just want to play as yoshi! Can't wait until the full game comes out so i can play as Yoshi again.

My favorite was Villager, and playing as him got me back into playing New Leaf. Mega Man is really good too.

I would've said Jigglypuff if you didn't restrict the opinions to the 5 playable characters in the demo. All the other characters are darkened and can't be selected. I don't have a 3DS, but god am I ready to own with Jigglypuff and her improved design with better attack power.

For the demo, I would say that Mario is my favorite. His moves are faster and his F-air is even faster than in Melee along with his B-air being more repeatable which is awesome compared to spamming with the confirmed Meta Knight loser who ripped Brawl and tore me away from even playing Brawl competitively. Mario still has that stupid F.L.U.D.D attack for his Down B but it is more powerful.

With all the new info and the early metagame, looks like Smash 4 isn't Brawl 2.0 anymore, but actually Melee 0.9!

Ok, I'm gonna be straight up honest with you guys.

I've never played a Smash Bros game before this. It may have something to do with not really having anyone with the game.

I do know a lot of the lexicon of smash brothers, and the "controversy" and what not (Gamecube controller master race, Melee vs. Brawl, Ridley and Mewtwo are the most wanted characters in smash but Sakurai is always trollin', Meta-Knight was OP as all hell in Brawl, Wavedashing, L-cancelling, etc). I have been following the Smash 4 news consistently since the Villager and Wii-Fit Trainer were announced, and I have been looking up other things about the series since then. At least I'm better than some one I know who has been playing Smash since Melee and doesn't know half of smash 4's roster... at least in my opinion...

Er, anyway, so far I've been getting better. I'm having a little trouble doing tilts and smash attacks on the ground, because I pretty much do one or the other, even though I'm trying my hardest to do it (i.e I do a down-tilt when I wanted to do a down smash, and visa versa.) 'm fearing that my circle pad may come off (even though I'm not even pushing on it hard), and I think that the demo is slowing down my 3DS XL, But I can't blame it; the demo looks really good. Seriously, this is something you gotta see to believe.

Oh, there was a question? Oh. Um... While I
do have a lot of fun dropping trees and bowling balls on the CPU, I can't exactly pocket anything because the CPU doesn't feel like using projectiles as much as I want them to. I've for some reason had a lot of fun with Megaman, with all of his familiar attacks, like the Metal blades, or top-spin, or flame soword (that's how the voice in Megaman 8 says it, anyway).

I liked playing as the Villager when I played the demo. He had a rather interesting moveset that I liked to use and he is something that I can work well with.

Vilager is defiantly my favourite character he isn't hard to get used and his moves are very strong once you get used to playing as him. And I mean all of his skills are so cool What character rides a rocket into another player.
