Well hello there? I didn't see you walk in! You see, I was just looking back over all the data I had on the Legend of Zelda series- not just any data- very special data- data regarding the original plans for various Zelda games, and how much different a series it was going to become. And well, as it turns out Kafei, kinda fits the bill here enough for me to start a fan theory with him!

Yes, that's right!

Ah yes, young Kafei.

I remember him. He was one of the first alternatd characters that you could play as in a Zelda Game, albeit brief, we got to swap out between him and Link in that one epic sidequest for the couple's mask in an epic 3 day journey.

But when I think about it, I somehow wish we got more out of the character.

Not to criticize what Nintendo already did, oh no, for certainly, what they DID do here was great.

You see, for. . well- at least two Zelda Games, Nintendo decided to do something different. They were originally planning OOT to be a lot more like Skyrim, and to be released for the Nintendo Disk drive, and Yes, I'm serious. In the game, you were suppposed to be able to wander around, and cut down trees- and the game would even remember what trees you cut down, things of that nature, you see, it was all going to be very advanced. But unfortunately, many things were cut from the final game in early beta on account of the Disc Drives Informal faliure.

Sad but true.

In fact, Majora's Mask is actually the product of an attempt to keep the idea of a Zelda URA alive- as Edji Aunuma wanted, And Miyamoto abliged. Hence, we got the game that some fans love the most and others hate. But alas I loved it.

But what does this have to do with Kafie?

The fact that he is very much like Link, and that he is also an alternate character whom we can play as (albiet that it is a very short time fram of gameplay.)


He is very acrobatic, even more so than Link, for he can backflip 3x as far as Link can in Majora's Mask. He has the mind of an adult, but the body of a Child.

He, like Link, will do whatever is necessary to complete his quest. But unlike Link, he is more characterized and has a better backstory + motives.

All these things make him a desirable alternate character to play as with his own story, Like in a sonic adventure game perhaps anybody?

But think about it.

He has similar moves to link, and could very much be a hero.

What if they took Kafie. . . and made him a more prominent character- playable- and with HIS OWN STORY?

Think about it.

Wouldn't you love it if we got a threequal to OOT with that!?

Sword legion : that's interesting. It would make sense what you said there. He has incredible skills, he has purple hair just like Ravio. In the zelda wiki they said that kafei doesn't have an ocarina of time counterpart

I would like a hack where you could play as Kafei.

Yeah, there was originally going to be another child's mask that you would use to become a child.

I wonder what it would be like if you could put on Kafei's mask or something after the side quest to call Kafei over. Then he would talk to Link and say "You want help? Okay, I can take over from here"

*screen fades out*

And then you're playing as Kafie.

Kafei. . . we never see him after the game is over. It can be assumed that he was turned back since The Happy Mask Salesman said that "All the evil power has left the mask" and in a lot of games like this, once the evil is gone, all reverts back to the way it was. Since, supposedly, the mask is like, the life line of the curse. Same for the moon. It disappeared once the battle was over after all.

I have no idea where that picture came from, just thought that I'd post it.

I wonder why they said that. Perhaps Fierce Deity Link Is Link's parallel. Man, I have some theories about him too. I would really enjoy gameplay as Kafie with his own story, kinda like Sonic.

The Happy Mask Salesman did say that, but search the wikis and they will all say Kafei PRESUMABLY turned back, since he PRESUMABLY saw Anju in her wedding dress from an ADULT"S POINT OF VIEW. Though I'm still wondering what happened afterwards. Imagine this, in Termina:
-Lunar calendars were thrown away
-Werewolves enjoyed immortal life and stayed human
-At night, places with no artificial lighting stayed dark
-No more creepy face memes...
