Normally, I am not a big fan of of Superhero games or even movies, but this one managed to spark my attention. I was amazed by the story and graphical effects of the movie, so I had decided to test the game out and even though it was expensive, it was worth it. This was the first Spider-man game that I have ever played and so far, it had left a very good impression of the series because of how much fun I have had playing it.
GRAPHICS 10/10 To me, the graphics are really the greatest aspect of the game. The developers put a lot of work into making sure that the effects and graphics stood out and that's exactly what happened. The main reason I had liked the movie so much was because all of the effects looked so clear. That clearness had transitioned from the movie into the game quite nicely to give the best experience possible. Whether its a fighting scene or one of the random cut scenes, it looks as though every moment throughout the game had been handcrafted with the finest effects that the developers could get their Hands on. The graphics were stunning and I believe that this aspect of the game deserves a perfect score because of this.
SOUND 8/10 When it comes to sound, the game pretty much has it all. First off, there is a huge voice cast list. The guy who voices Parker is known as Sam Riegel who has appeard in more trhan 100 Anime’s and video games including Yu-Gi-Oh as Tristan and Rex, and Persona 4 as Teddie. Pretty much every single person who lends their voice for this game is a professional at what they do and cause the game to become much better because of their level of talent. The music of the game isn’t done by the same guy who made the music in the movie, which was amazing, but the music is still very good. The guy who made the music for this game is also known for being the composer for Outlast. The music combined with stellar voice acting and the random noises of action prove that this game has it all in the sound department. For this category, I give the game an 8 out of 10.
STORY 8/10 The story starts off with Peter looking for the man who killed his Uncle and Peter eventually leanrs the name of the killer. The story is pretty much the same as any Spider-man story, just ivolves Peter fighting crime, encountering somebody who is in a way just as powerful as he is, beating that person, and saving his loved ones. (Occasionally). There isn’t really anything else aside for the variety of villains and the fact that Stan Lee makes a pretty big appearance in the game. For this game, I am going to give the story an 8 out of 10.
ADDICTIVNESS 8/10 First of all, who doesn't love a good action game? And on top of that, who doesn't love Spider-man? This game is full of wonderful scenes and moments that will blow you away. Sure, not every moment is worth playing over again, and you probably wouldn't want to go through every minute of the game a second time, but there are plenty of points throughout the game that are just too good to resist playing over again. All the aspects that make this game what it is is enough to make it the kind of game where certain moments will be etched into your mind foe a while, and that's good, that means that the developers did a good job in making sure that the gamer has a great experience playing it. Overall, I am going to say that the addictiveness aspect of this game deserves an 8 out of 10.
DEPTH 9/10 The depth of the game is pretty good considering there is an open world where you can freely explore parts of Manhattan. Just the fact that you can freely sling yourself around Manhattan is enough depth for me because it opens up so many different possibilities for the gamer to explore. Then of course there are a ton of different crimes that you must help in addition to the main super villain. Some tasks include taking pictures, rescuing citizens, and aiding in the capture of criminals. There is a ton of stuff for you to do in this game and for that, I am going to give this category a 9 out of 10.
DIFFICULTY 6 I will be honest and say that this is one of the tougher PS 4 games that I have played, though it's my fault considering that I have never played a Spider-man game before this. It took a bit longer to learn the controls than most games, but once I had those down, the game was a breeze. I believe this would also be the case for most of those who play this game. It could be real tough until you have played the game for a bit and begin to learn the mechanics of the game. Once you get the mechanics down, there still may be a few challenges that can be solved just by trying over and over until you nail them. For difficulty, I am going to give this game a 6.
OVERALL 9 Overall, this is a very fun and addicting game that is worth trying out. I am still not really a fan of superhero games, but this is an exception and is also my favorite. There is much more to the game than just fighting crime and its all this extra stuff that makes the game so much fun to play. If you are a fan of Spider-man, I suggest that you play this game and if you are simply a fan of action games, then I also suggest that you play it because you won't regret it. I had a great time playing this game and the experience was wonderful, my overall grade for this game is going to be a 9 out of 10. Great review I just started playing this game and I like it but I hate the new spider-man movies I like the old ones with Tobey Maguire. |

Wow...you must be in the minority on this opinion, because I've been hearing from many people that this game was pretty mediocre. They cite the story, the repetitive gameplay, and the graphics/programming as the main problem in this game and I've been seeing on average around 5 or 6 in their ratings out of 10. So a couple of things about this review. You need to keep a general audience in mind. What you wrote seem to suggest that everyone is going to love Spiderman and that everyone is going to love an action game. That's not actually true, and this game might not get the same love from those groups. So you have to keep that in mind. Also, your explanation needs work. I know that you like this game a lot and I'm not surprised with the high marks that you gave it, but they are not all 10s, which means there are certain things that you didn't like or don't find it exceptional or perfect. Those things are worth mentioning, because I kept on wondering why you didn't give certain categories a 10. Saying that it is made by a certain guy who participated in making a different well acclaimed game doesn't count as an explanation that this one would be great. It just sets up a higher expectation. Go in depth and see those people actually did good work or not. Focus on the game and not the movie, which are two completely different objects. Finally, you seem to be rushing some of these, because I see some spelling around the middle paragraph. So a couple of things about this review. You need to keep a general audience in mind.
