Hello all! I decided to start keeping my own blog for a change, since I've enjoyed it in the past and I do miss it a lot. Hopefully I shall be posting a lot of photos to make this a bit more interesting. So couple of days ago the weather was extremely beautiful and me an my friends decided to spend an evening sitting on the riverside in the city center. The atmosphere was amazing! One of the best locations in the city are the boats where people like to drink, eat and enjoy the sun. Since we students tend to be broke at all times, we decided to sit outside of the boats and share a few drinks together. The sunset was beautiful and I wanted to share a photo of it with you guys. Yesterday I was "dogsitting" my brother's dog Vaino, while my bro was out at sea with his friends. My brother has just moved into a new house and his dog can be a bit stressed out being in a new place and all, so that's why I spent a relaxing day with him. I spent the entire day watching anime and taking walks with him and the weather was absolutely amazing. Just slightly too warm for Vaino so he was very tired after every walk we took. He is such a cutie pie so here's a photo of him! Today, I shall take it easy because I don't need to worry about school stuff next week! I shall spend quality time with my kitty and perhaps do some laundry. Here's a picture of my kitty that my friend took last week: That is all for now! I'm hoping to make writing a blog a regular thing and I also hope that you guys enjoy reading about my mundane life. With all love, sillysoul <3 So couple of days ago the weather was extremely beautiful and me an my friends decided to spend an evening sitting on the riverside in the city center. Always interesting to see the life of our members outside of Vizzed. We don't nearly get enough continuous blogs (especially with pictures) around here.
Hope to see you do more! Hope to see you do more! |

Mistress : Eniitan : zanderlex : Thank you all for your lovely comments! I will try my best to make my blog interesting to you all :-) I've been ill for the whole week but today I'm full of energy again! I just visited the grocery store and I'll probably go to the library soon. I just finished reading this mystery and crime book, which I thought was quite nice! I kept reading it like I was in a trance because up until the end I couldn't guess who the real culprit could be! If you happen to bump into this author's books I definitely recommend checking some of them out :-) Here is another picture of my cat. Her name is Lilla My or Lillukka as I like to call her :-) She always starts to act up weird when I pick up the camera and in this picture she was trying to keep her eyes open while meowing at me! I think that she likes the attention and that's why acts the way she does. Even though in this photo it looks more like "one more photo and I'll kill you!!". Even though I love summer and hot weather I've enjoyed today because it's been cool and rainy. Somehow it puts me in the proper mood I need for studying. I'm really happy now since I finished a long essay about my favourite subject, biometrics. And no difficulty with finding the motivation! I was diagnosed with bipolar-disorder about a month ago and ever since they changed my medication my life has changed drastically! And I also came to realize that I've had problems with school motivation for years! Now I've suddenly become really active and I turned in around 30 credits in just a few weeks. I've really had some catching up to do but thankfully the teachers have been helpful, even though I haven't been able to explain my condition to them. Anyways, here are some more pictures. These are the two views I have from my balcony. It's especially nice before midday because the sun shines right through the trees. I do wish I didn't have that many trees since then the sunshine would be perfect. But on the other hand the many trees attract some wild life like squirrels that I like to just look at from time to time. Actually one of the squirrels has just built up a nest in one of them trees and it's really close to my balcony. I've tried to catch a photo of it I didn't have much to say since I've only stayed inside for the most part. I'm gonna start being active again so I'll certainly have a proper story for you guys next time! :-) Eniitan : zanderlex : Thank you all for your lovely comments! Oo, interesting.
Have you heard of Patricia Highsmith? I believe you may like her works, if you like mystery thriller type of stories. Well, she does psychological thrillers, but I hear they're very famous. Ever heard of The Talented Mr. Ripely? Personally, I've never read her psychological thrillers, but I have read a little of her bio after coming across another book from her. And you may like them. I'm very sorry to hear about your disorder. I wish you the best on it, though. It hardly seems like it bothers you, but I hope you are doing well on it. Also, I think I'd like to have someone see this Singelli : Take a look at the last pictures. The background may be a little too blinding, but it gives the greenery in the foreground a nice light, don't you think? Have you heard of Patricia Highsmith? Before I saw Mistress' summon, I was scanning through the thread while looking for the summon.... and I thought "oooh, what pretty pictures!" So Mistress was right. Those are very nice indeed! Thanks for sharing, sillysoul. You should submit a few to my photography thread. |

Eniitan :
Mistress : zanderlex : Singelli : Thanks for all of the comments! They inspire me to write more :-) Anyways, I had a really eventful weekend. I traveled up north to my grandma's farm where we celebrated my aunt and uncle's 50th birthdays. It takes over 5 hours to drive there and I was so exhausted afterwards that I fell a Some photos I took on the way. It was raining so we had to eat our lunch inside the car. And next I'll show some photos from the farm. When my grandpa was still alive he spent most of his time taking care of the land... and that's a huge job when the property's over two hectares big. My grandparents used to have strawberries and potatoes planted, but grandma's too tired to take care of the plants now. I sure was hoping to pick some berries this summer. Last summer I picked over 5 litres of black currants. The above picture shows a sauna cottage that's located next to a river. Sometimes there's not much space up at the house when all of my relatives are staying over, so I get the whole cottage to myself during summers. Summer is definitely the best season in middle Finland! This is a view of the river. My grandparents are so lucky to have it next to their plot. I love to fish and at the end of summer we usually catch hundreds of river crabs. Selling crabs used to be the only means of income to my dad when he was a young lad. Times haven't really changed since crabs are good money in the market! There's no special meaning for this photo but I thought it would look nice! My grandparents haven't had cows in over 15 years and the cattle shed is nearly collapsed now-a-days. My grandma would be glad to get rid of the old shed but I think it has spirit. So if it was my decision I wouldn't take it down. The food was absolutely delicious. My aunt had been preparing them night and day and I think she did a wonderful job. There were four different kinds of salads, pork and lamb and potatoes. I ate like I'd never seen food before! There were four different kinds of cakes as well but I forgot to take a photo of them... I was too busy eating them, haha! I think the weekend was wonderful. It's a shame there always has to be some special occasion to get our entire family together since I'd like to do it more often. I only have grandparents from mother's side so they're the only near family I have here next to my dad and brother. On my father's side I have aunts and uncles and lots of cousins, but I seldom get to see them. My dad's turning 50 next year so I'm hoping that's the next time I get to be with them all again :-) Mistress : zanderlex : Singelli : Thanks for all of the comments! Wow how cool! So light a vibrant with lots of greens and water. Finland sure looks nice. I mean look at the atmosphere there and the colours as well it just screams carefree. I wanna go and lie down on the grass there. And the food! Boy does that look delicious. ^-^ |

That is a pretty nice little cottage you have. So are you from Finland or are you just visiting relatives if you don't mind me asking?
Also what breed is your brother's dog? He has a really nice coat. Also what breed is your brother's dog? He has a really nice coat. |

Eniitan : Thanks again! I do recommend visiting Finland or other northern countries, like Sweden for instance. I really like it here :-) Oldschool41 : I've lived in Finland my entire life so a change of scenery wouldn't be bad actually. I've asked what breed my brother's dog is at least 15 times but I always forget... He's mixed but has two major breeds in him. I'm more of a cat person so my knowledge of dog breeds is very limited! sillysoul : Ah. So how would you characterize Finland. As someone who prefers cold-weather climates, I've always been interested in visiting Scandinavia (if I can learn some of the language).
Also where would you go if you were to do a change of scenery. Also where would you go if you were to do a change of scenery. |

Oldschool41 : What I really appreciate about my own culture is that honesty is a big thing. I've never been a fan of chit-chat and empty praises and those aren't typical to the Finnish character. Even though the overall picture people have of Finland is that it's freezing cold and dark here the whole year, I'd say that's only true for 6 months in a year or so. Summers can be extremely warm and we've already had heat waves I'd characterize as tropical. Finns also enjoy the occasional booze, some more than others, and summer is a great time to enjoy the nature and have a few beers. I live in Turku and it's a beautiful summer city. The river side, like shown in my first photo is crowded with people drinking and having a great time whenever the weather allows it. It sounds like I'm trying to sell you a plot of land from here but honestly speaking I really do love this country. The education system is great, my insurance costs only 100€ per year, health care is free and there's minimal corruption in politics. Everything's straight-forward and honest. I have friends living in England so that would probably be my first choice. Although I've always dreamed of Australia for some reason. I'll get my BBA in a couple of years so perhaps I'll go looking for a job abroad. I know that the job situation isn't great in my city right now so I'd rather go look for an overseas job than move city. EDIT : In order to avoid double posting I decided to make my new entry into this old post. And I have plenty of pictures to show you guys! So I've had a really eventful week and I've tried my best to take as much photos as possible. First of all I baked a lot the other week. I'm a bit of a newbie still, but I think I did a pretty good job! The cake (or actually it's a tart) below is the one I tasted at my aunt's birthday party. Instead of lime and white chocolate, I decided to use strawberries for the filling and despite the crust being a bit too thin, it was absolutely delicious! I also baked some chocolate mocha cake with my friend Mira the other day. I've never baked it before even though it's really easy to make. Also it's extremely unhealthy, but delicious! We did a very good job I think and we added more coffee that in the original recipe, so it wasn't as sweet as normally (which is good I think). And finally, I decided to make some cucumber naan-bread yesterday. They don't look like the ones you'd get from an Indian restaurant but they're delicious nonetheless. I ate some of them for lunch today and they go well with any kind of soup. I also visited the local biological museum with my brother and niece yesterday. I used to love that place as a kid because I remember going to many of their dinosaur-themed days in my childhood. And dinosaurs are awesome, aren't they? There wasn't any particular theme this week and the taxidermy has been the same for over ten years I think. Even though I was there last year and I pretty much remember everything they have in there, I always enjoy visiting the place. The only difference from last year were the butterflies. They had a skeleton-themed exhibition last year so in the place of the butterflies they had skulls from deceased animals. That was creepy and somewhat cool at the same time! And here are the pictures for your enjoyment! Aren't the butterflies beautiful? We don't have exotic bugs in Finland but the mammals and birds were all Finnish. Anyways, I have to study for an exam I have tomorrow. It's about C# programming and I'm very puzzled since it's going to be a regular pen and paper test. I hope it's going to be a multiple answer test because there's no way I could memorize pieces of code without having a keyboard in front of me! Wish me luck...
