Once a week on every Thursday for this entire month, I plan to create a competition dealing with the Vizzed Minecraft server and in each of those competitions, money and Viz will be up for grabs. Here's this week's competition.

Create Pixel Art in the Open World (pixel art on any of the islands doesn't count). Your "Art" can be either a single sprite graphic or multiple sprites graphics joined together. Once this competition ends, staff will vote on which structure they think is the best. You can see an example of my submission at the end of this post. To enter, simply take a screenshot of your completed pixel art and submit it to this thread. Be sure to give your submission a title. You can either upload the screenshot to the Photo Album and than embed it to your post or you can upload the screenshot with your post, screenshots posted any other way don't count (they have to be hosted on vizzed). It's recommended that you place a claim around your pixel art. If you don't make a claim around your art, you'll be unable to remove blocks if you make a mistake and other users will be able to make a claim on your pixel art and potentially destroy it. You should also place a sign in front of your pixel art so that we all know who made it and what it's of. For more information on land claiming, go here:

To take a screenshot in Minecraft, all you have to do is press F2. If you want to take the screenshot without the menus, press F1 to remove the menus. If you want to change your perspective, press F5. For more information on Minecraft screenshots and for where to find them, go here:

If you already made some pixel art but not in the Open World, I can move it for you so that it qualifies. To get to the Open World, you can either take the subway station to it (which can be found underneath the Vizzed Ville Town Square) or you can walk there but heading to the really long island next to Vizzed Ville and taking the path that leads down into the water tunnel. There's a shop in the open world which has 16 colors of wool and clay which can be used to make the art.

You cannot do the same pixel graphic that someone else did. You may do the same character that someone else already did as long as it's not the same exact sprite. So for example, if someone did a Mario standing sprite from Super Mario Bros for the NES, you may do a Mario standing sprite from Super Mario Bros 3 for the NES. If someone did a Mario running sprite from Super Mario Bros for the NES, you may do a Mario running sprite from Super Mario Bros for the NES. Basically you just can't do the same pose of the same sprite of the same game.

Here are the prizes:
1st: US $25 or 37,500 Viz / MViz
2nd: 20,000 Viz / MViz
3rd: 10,000 Viz / MViz

I can pay you by either PayPal or by buying something online for you. If your structure was built by more than 1 user, than the earnings will be split.

I have a great idea, can I claim this idea (e.g I yell out Companion Cube) here to make sure no one makes one while I'm offline during building, or should I just put trust in everyone not to steal it? 

I would love to participate in this as I make pixel art on a fairly regular basis but I don't own an MC account (modded client works for offline). I'm excited to see what other users make for this competition.

Davideo7 : Then I guess I'll just need to work quickly then, ha ha, prepare to name me the winner!

thelastrequim : You mean slower because if you are worried about people stealing your ideas, then it will be best to do it as close to the end as you can so nobody else would have time to copy your idea. If you finish it tomorrow, everybody else would have 6 days to make a better one.

zanderlex : BUT, if I hurry, I'll be able to post screenshot proof of the build, and make even more art to give me a better chance.

thelastrequim : True, but then people can make it better. It's not really copying if they take your idea but make a much better version or design. and they would have more time to work on it.

Competition ends in 4 hours and there have been a lot of sprites created but not many screenshots taken and submitted to this thread. If anyone has created a sprite but hasn't done all the requirements, do so soon.
