I have 5 missing friends from elementary school. I have addresses for 2 of them, old ones that they lived at because I was on their school bus and I saw where they lived and their apartment is just right around the block from where I still live. My friend (who I still talk to today) seems to be right about the FACT that they moved, but she does not know WHERE they moved.

I have both first and last names for 4 of them, but just a first and POSSIBLE last name for the fifth.

Now the thing is:

1) I've already conducted internet searches for all of them, including Facebook and Twitter, but no luck. Searched by as much information as I know about them. Their names pop up, but they are listed as much older people. They should be about 20 now.

2) I've already been in the apartment that I remember they lived in and went up to the rooms that were listed by their names by the door (in the front hall) of the apartment. I knocked. No one answered. I slipped a letter (basically asking how they've been, I remember where they lived from being on their bus, and with my contact information so I can be contacted back). It's been like 3 weeks. No response.

That's why I think my friend I still talk to today is right and I don't wanna bug her about this anymore.

Is there anything else I can do to try to find these people?

I am not sure what else to tell you because it seems like you have tried quite a lot of options. The only other thing that comes to mind is trying a search engine for people, try this or try other search engines that do the same thing. I would say try to search them by their phone number, but I am guessing you probably don't have that or else you would've contacted them.

If all else fails, I guess you can just agree with your friend and assumed that they all moved. Nevertheless, I hope what little bit of advice I have offered can be somewhat useful to you, hopefully you find your friends soon, I wish you the absolute best of luck finding them.

I think putting a letter under their door is about as far as you can go. If they don't contact you, they probably just have busy lives and might not be as interested in meeting elementary school acquaintances as you are.

Give them a few more weeks to respond, and then just best forget about it for now, you might bump into them on the bus or something and then you can have a chat from there.

Some people just don't have an online presence. One of my best friends from high school decided to go off the grid and she's a ghost now. The internet is a wonderful tool, but it cannot do everything. Honestly, I think you did all that you could short of hiring a private detective to track them down. Did you confirm with the landlords at that apartment that they were still living there or that they had moved? That might be one last chance to find their new addresses if they no longer live there. It's a long shot that the landlord might remember their new address, but it is worth asking.

Thanks.
& no I haven't done any "landlording"
but I did find ONE of my friends who I thought went MIA!!!
He was on a mutual friend's Facebook, under a somewhat different name than what I remembered him from from school and bus rides
and for the other who I thought I knew where she lived, I re-sent my mail, this time with "Address Correction Requested" AND tracking so I'll have a better idea of what the USPS is doing with it
Thanks.
