Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to move your save file over from mupen to 1964. I've gotten to the fire temple and since i don't have a controller i can't get the megaton hammer even though i went and got the longshot and in the water temple i can't get past the golden eye because i can't z target. I was checking other posts for help when i read that if you use 1964 you can z target and get pas the golden eye in the water temple. I opened the game in 1964 but my save file is not there. Help! I don't want to have to do it all over again if I don't have to. I love this game and really want to re live my childhood and play it again. if my n64 still worked i'd play it off of that! Since i can't, please help!

Technically it should be possible if you saved your game the old-fashioned way, like you would on a real Nintendo 64.

However, if you've been using save states, each emulator does save states in a different way so you'd be out of luck.

If all you need is a controller to continue using mupen64plus, I'd go for something like this to make the button mapping easier: http://www.ebay.com/itm/360714790300

It is not possible. The plugin consists of multiple emulators. The mupen64 and 1964 are different emulators, so you cannot transfer a save file from one to the other.

You might want to invest in that controller I linked, then.

If you don't mind me asking, how did your N64 end up dead? It takes effort to break one of those workhorses...

Zurenriri : I'm not sure, my brother did something to it, he told me it doesn't work anymore. As a kid he did have a nasty habit of flipping out and yanking the console off the tv stand when he got frustrated with the game he was playing so that might have been it.
