The idea for this game, I believe, came from the ending of the original game where if you plug in a second controller you can control the camera. It's also interesting that Nintendo originally was going to add it in with split screen instead of just one screen, but removed it because they thought that the N64 couldn't hold it. They were wrong, but it's fine. In terms of the actual game, there's not much different from the original, except the second player, Luigi. There's a difference from Mario and Luigi, other than looks. Luigi can jump higher, but has low traction. I like those little details that can change the entire game. So for that alone the game gets 8/10.

I like those tiny details that change the game as well. I also like the new camera because it works really well. The only problems I've had are that a random death occurred in the castle when I was playing this game with my sister and the cannons aren't visible when you can aim them, which makes the stars that they're supposed to be used for much more difficult for me to get than they were before.
