Is Zelda doomed to be a game that used cartooney graphics, and nothing else?
Will it ever appeal to more mature people like me again? or will it keep making titles likened to that of Sonic Lost Worlds?

Seriously, this is a huge problem for me. I have to force myself to play these tooney Zelda games now, or I won't get any Zelda games at all. We need another title like TP and quickly. I think even one more title like that would hold us over for a while. I mean, is one mature looking (and themed) title every two or three generations asking too much? Come on, Nintendo, there are at least as many adult Zelda fans as there are kids that like it. Throw us a bone already.

For the record, some of these kiddy looking titles are good, but I still can't get as engrossed in them as I can the others.

Eirinn : there was only really one mature zelda game to me and that was TP. There was never really ay mature zelda games and if there was any reference of any violence it was changed. Like the blood ganon spat out in OOT was changed to green instead of red.

Well you got to think, Zelda is Nintendo. Nintendo makes stuff to appeal to all, and Zelda is no exception. TP is the only game seen as "mature" in the franchise, also the only T rated game in the series, so maybe Nintendo changed for Zelda to avoid any angry parents being angry at the game their kids want being T rated. You got to think about the angry parent mobs Nintendo would deal with if they made it more mature past TP mature.

I never actually played TP, except for the Wii version's first temple. I tried Gamecube, but the fake Wii mixed me up with the whole mirror thing, and I don't like the Wii controls, and I can't play mirror, so I can't play what possibly is the second best Zelda game. I personally love ST and WW and the design, but then Skyward Skyward Sword and Link Between Worlds were so bad, I can't even be excited. I wish they would go back to true 2d, like Link's Awakening, or the Oracles. It was obvious with both OoT and Majora that Nintendo was pushing the graphics to be more realistic, but the widely positive reviews of Toon Link's "cute" design has ruined the series for me. And with Zelda being my favourite Nintendo series, it makes me truly sad that I cannot look forward to any further titles, save for HD re-edits, or Virtual Consoles.

mourinhosgum : That's how I feel as well (only truely mature title), though Majora's Mask is a little more borderline than the others, but only in story.

And the reason they made TP was because they wanted a Zelda title designed to appeal to the Western gamers. Why not switch it up and toss the westerners another game once in a while? It only makes sense, since we are one of the top countries in gaming retail. Also, some more mature titles would help Nintendo's WiiU problem a little. It's marketed as a kid's system now, that and those stupid controls...lol

I'm holding on to the hope for a TP sequel, or at least a title like it.

I personally don't find myself minding how cartoony a game is. I actually enjoy more cartoon graphics, as they tend to look better when you go back and play it years later. Example? Twilight Princess. It probably looked good when it came out but now... the faces look RIDICULOUS. It becomes more funny than scary..
Honestly? I doubt Nintendo will focus solely on cartoony style games. They'll switch things up and go back to realistic graphics at some point, but what immerses me into a game is gameplay, not graphics.

I hope Zelda doesn't go down like that. Because i really like Zelda. The only great cartoon game to me would be Wind Waker. I like the other mature games like OoT and twilight princess.
