This is basically an addon feature to the Price Guide feature. Every game that has a estimated value will also have an estimated rarity. The rarity is on a scale of 1-10, 1 being extremely common and 10 being extremely rare. It's based on how often a game appears for sale on ebay.

The feature is currently functional (but not finished) so you can test it out for yourself. The rarity number will be below the value numbers. Here's a few games to demonstrate with:

Here's an example of a Rare retro game, 'Flintstones, The - The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak!'
https://www.vizzed.com/videogames/game.php?id=13352

Here's an example of a Extremely common modern game
https://www.vizzed.com/games/mario-kart-7-3ds-3ds-72294-game

Here's an example of Super Mario Bros 3 which is considered very common (more about that below)
https://www.vizzed.com/games/super-mario-bros-3-nes-nintendo-nes-684-game

Some of you may be wondering why Super Mario Bros is considered a 2/10 and not 1/10 when it's one of the most common NES games. This scale isn't based on how common a game is for a specific system, it's based on how often it appears on ebay compared to all other games.

I should also point out that the price of a game doesn't always determine its rarity. The rarity of a game usually does impact the price of a game but ultimately supply and demand determine the price of a game. Earthbound is probably the greatest example this. The game goes for an average of $146.70 loose but it's rarity is only 3. Super Mario Bros 2 is listed as having the same rarity score of 3 but it's average loose price is $13.17. Hit the Ice for the Sega Genesis has a rarity score of 6, which makes it rare, but not as many people care to own it so therefore it's cheaper than Earthbound, even though it's more rare (according to my rarity guide anyway).

Eventually I'll make it so that your profile shows the rarity of each of your games, the average rarity of your games owned and maybe even a rarity score of some sort reflecting your overall collection. I'll also make changes to the rarity scores as time goes on in order to make them as accurate as possible.

There are millions of games, don't you think that /10 is a bit too...general? I think you should change it to /100, just so it can make for more accurate comparisons.

Tails the Fox : Most rarity guides don't go above 10 for a score, in fact a lot of them don't even go above 5. The rarity number is more of an estimate for now anyway, the rarity numbers would have to be very accurate to justify a 1-100 scale.

This is actually pretty cool, except clicking the link for the rarity opens the page for the Price Guide.

tRIUNE : I suppose I can have it link to nothing but it currently links to the ebay listings since that's what it's based on.

I'm not certain if you should have it link to nothing; it does seem that it should be linked to nothing.

Would it be difficult to have the link open a page with all games in a certain score? For example clicking the link for 6/10 rarity would open a page which displays all games with 6/10.
