First we have Super Mario 64 Multiplayer, and now we have Super Mario World Multiplayer. You might be thinking, "Doesn't Super Mario World already have multiplayer?" Yes. Yes it does. But what makes this game so unique is that Mario and Luigi is playing at the same time! That never happened in 2D Mario until New Super Mario Bros. Wii. But is it still the game we all know and love? Or is it a completely different game? That should be obvious but let's find out anyway!
Graphics: 9
What makes Super Mario World so great is the graphics. For the launch title on the SNES, SMW is one of the best looking Mario games I've ever seen. Since this is a hack of the game, not much has changed. Everything seems the same so not much has changed here. Bugs can appear sometimes though.
Sound: 10
Again not much has changed from SMW. The game has some of the best music and sound effects a Mario game ever had. The music is such a classic and I never get tired of it. The only new sound effect Super Mario World Multiplayer has is when one person dies.
Addictiveness: 9
You would play this game for hours and hours even without a friend because its Super Mario World! Its a fun game to play alone but when you have a friend over and you want to play this game, or you play this game on netplay, you would play it three times as much as you would play it alone. It's so much fun with a buddy to play with you. Your friend would do one of two things, help and wait for you, or be a jerk and attack you and not wait for you. Like NSMBW, NSMB2, and NSMBU, when you die, you appear in a bubble which your partner would either, pop you, or avoid you to be a jerk. Also the game saves every level. That wasn't in SMW and as a result, this game becomes really easy. Also unlike SMW, this game doesn't have an item box anymore. This game can lead into fun and memorable times.
Story: 3.5
Like always, the Princess gets kidnapped by Bowser, Mario and Luigi must stop him. Bowser also trapped Yoshi in a block. It's the exact same story as the original SMW so its kind of pointless to go on about the story. The story is not that important its basically, Bowser kidnaps Princess Toadstool (Peach) Mario and Luigi stops Bowser and the Princess is saved. The end. See how simple it is?
Depth: 9.5
This game is very big for a launch title for the Super Nintendo. 96 levels. That's bigger than some games today which is sad. You would play this game for about 2 weeks if this is your first time and you try to 100% the game. Again, its the exact same length as SMW so not much to say here.
Difficulty: 3.5
The difficulty in this game is very easy because, as I said earlier, the game saves every level you complete. The exceptions are the Switch Palace, the Castle, and the Ghost House, which is the time it saves your game on the original game. This game doesn't have an item box though. The controls are the same as before, great. The best controls in a Mario game ever.
Overall: 9.2
The game is Super Mario World, only multiplayer at the same screen. The game can be really buggy at times but that's not a reason why you shouldn't love this game. If you love Super Mario World, then you will love this game. Thanks for reading my review. It's my first in a while now. I hope you like it.
