I do talk to myself. I remember our psychology prof saying that talking to one's self is a healthy way of learning more about your true feelings and state of mind. There's nothing crazy about it.

Only when I am speed reading or going over a complex issue with my self. I find it helps to give me a sense of clarity I wouldn't otherwise have.

Yes. It helps me think. I don't think I ever could not talk to myself and still be able to think properly. (That makes no sense =O )

In actuality, we are quietly talking to ourselves all the time, the subconscious is always forcing thoughts into your conscious mind. Vocalizing it, as it seems, is pretty normal, almost everyone does it. It's a way to play through the days events. I often replay situations I wish I had handled better by talking with myself.

Talking to yourself in public where people can hear you, however, is completely different, and is usually a sign of a mental issue.

Yes, I do, a lot actually. It helps me think. Plus, it can get pretty entertaining once you start an argument. lol But yeah, that's just a weird thing I do.

I talk to myself a lot and about everything. I do it out loud. My brother found me talking to myself once and asked me about it. Thing is, it's so normal to me that I didn't realize I was even doing it. O.O
And I argue with myself out loud to get better standing on a situation.

I would have to say for a majority of the time I am, my mind is just busy in many places and I either need to remind myself of something, or i'm deducing what's going on around me.

I don't really tend to talk to myself, I might be busy thinking to myself about things in my mind, or I might make comments to myself about my surroundings or the people around me. Sloanstar is right though, we are always making little decisions with our subconscious and it would only appear normal if we emphasize it by talking to ourselves aloud or quietly. Nevertheless it is always there, but most of the times I don't talk to myself, like some people right now are saying what they are about to post as they are doing it, and  I just type as I go.

Sometimes out loud but mostly inside my head. I almost never talk to myself out loud around people, don't need to explain you why it is good to avoid that

Sometimes yes, I don't think there is anything wrong about that. It is sometimes good to talk to your self so maybe the things makes more sense to you, like if you have something in your mind you should write them down. That's what I do sometimes.

Of course I speak to myself when no friends are around me. I do it for various reasons, usually to let out frustrations. I say it under my breath half the time because I don't want the people around me to hear since they don't deserve to. And anyone that thinks speaking to yourself is weird doesn't know what they are talking about.

I talk to myself all the time. I tend to do it most when I'm gaming, and....well....let's just say the words that come out of my mouth aren't exactly fit for conversation. I never understood why people thought talking to themselves was weird. Honestly I do it a ton, and learn a lot about myself after the conversation.

Yeah, when I think about it I guess I really do talk to myself. And I don't see anything wrong with it, either. I mean, ranting, or venting, (whichever term you prefer) is a good way to relieve stress, at least for me. When there is nobody else to listen to your problems, and you don't feel like bugging someone, just complain to yourself! I do it all the time. And not just complaining, either. I talk to myself about what I have to do that day, to reassure myself things will be fine, and sometimes just because I'm bored. But that's okay. I like staying in my own thoughts.

I talk to myself all the time.  I have ideas and things I think may work but they often end up being bad ideas in reality.  If I talk out loud to myself, I hear them in real life.  I can evaluate the decision making process and decide whether to execute them or not.  Talking out loud works fine for me when I keep track of things I have to do.  I can strategize and quickly change my plan I have to.  It saves time, it helps pass the sniff test, and things seem to work better when I talk it out.  I imagine myself like the folks on Who wants to be a millionaire.  They talk it out and they end up overthinking things.  I talk it out and it ends up working just fine.

I do if I'm alone, but I don't have any complex conversations, generally I just narrate what I'm doing, similar to a lets play video.
