Hello, My name is Yngwie.
I see a lot of people confuse both Gen 3 and 4 with the pyshical/special split.
But, Gen 3 doesn't have that. And only fire red and leaf green can be hacked in with a split system.
Here is a list of pyshical types:
Fighting
Flying
Ghost
Normal
bug
Steel
Rock
Ground
Poison

Psyhical type is based on attack and are holded back by defense. A steelix is strong against bug and normal moves because it's a steel type and has a high defence base. But it's weak against  grass types and it's even weaker against fir types.
Because steelix's special defence is pretty low. The special type moves do a lot of damage against it. But like I said, defence and pyshical are alike. You cannot defeat a opponent with 10 times the defence of your attack. But when your Pokémon has high attack, it can penetrate
Through your opponent's defence.
In other gens there are special type moves that attack the defence. So, these moves can be really effective against Pokémon with low defence.

This is a list of special types
Psychic
Dark
Electric
Fire
Water
Ice
Grass
Dragon
Special type is based on special attack. And are holded back by special defence. A regice as example could handle a flamethrower. Even If it's super effective. It's massive special defence protects it from fainting. Well, there is a difficult calculation system to calculate damage depending on base power, special attack and buffers but, well, let's just say that I'm not that smart .. The reason why psychic Pokémon are so superior against fighting Pokémon is because fighting Pokémon often lacks special defence. hitmonlee and hitmonchan are actually pretty good in special defence, and are more likely to fight against psychic type Pokémon. But, Even with the special defence. They still both lack the HP to survive.
A blissy is a perfect example. Use brick break. IT will K.O. Use Eruption At full HP. And it will stand as nothing happened. Massive HP and high special defence gives blissy the ability to survive strong special attack. But, she lacks defence. And could be defeated by just a simple pyshical move.

Well, I don't know if I explained it good enough but, that's how Gen3 works!
Thanks for your time people!

Nice explanation there man, I was confused about this a little bit myself, so I am glad you came in and clarified this. Looks like you put a lot of effort into going into detail with this but I am sure it didn't take any time at all considering you are a pokemon master. But nevertheless nice job! You really made some good points and I think you cleared up any confusion that I had or that any other members will have after reading this. So thanks for the in depth, detailed explanations. Thanks a lot, and merry Christmas!

Razor-987 :   Thanks Razor!
It's always nice to notice your support!

Well, Actually  A LOT of people are confused because of gen4 introduction with the pyschical and special split, that they all kind of forgot about the type difference between special types, and pyshical types.

For myself, I'm so used to play Gen 2-3 games and hacks, that it's just common sense.
But, Gen 4 introduction was also pretty good.. Pokémon like galade and using psycho cut was amazing.
Since psycho cut Is psychic So would give it STAB, And also, the power of the move was calculated through Attack instead of special attack.
So, Pokémon like hitmonlee and hitmonchan are vulnerable against it since they lack defence abilities.
I think the pyshical-special split is kind of cool but, It's actually more confused if you're used to the holder calculators.
For the split system, Pokémon Like gyarados can finally use there massive atk base I n combination with Water STAB.
Like aqua tail or waterfall.. If you use it in Gen 3.. IT will be based of Gyarados's it's sp.atk. And, we all know Gyarados LACKS special attack xD.

But Yea, I guess I should try to make posts like this more often. Like how to use move sets with the most effect.
Come to think of it, I haven't posted a lot in general.. I might try to pick up my trail.

Well, thanks for the merry Christmas but, In the religion I believe in, there is no Christmas But, thanks anyways bro! I hope you are going to have good presents!
Greetings Razor!
PS : We should play more often together again dude. It's been a long time since we last played a Pokémon game together.
