A user of this : Koda : SuperCrash64 : A user of this : Koda : SuperCrash64 : In Star Fox 2, Venom is not a very unerving planet. It looks fine, and apparently has a very healthy eco system when you visit it. So, is Andross teraforming it? Or has it reverted back to normal since he lost control over it, and only recently got his grip on it again? I think that since the planet was a hostile place at first, that he made it a better planet so that he could raise citizens on it, while he (might have) been pushing the limits on Eladard. Kinda weird that the planet looks so nice though huh? So, I've decided that Andross is doing the same thing in our RPg. Sword legion : If it means building an empire on people to follow him by giving them what they want so he has their support 100%, I wouldn't be surprised. Probably for his own health as well really. But it makes me wonder how the Angler's really feel about it since they come from an acidic ocean... With a name like Venom originally, I wanna say it started out how it looked regardless. After Andross was kicked out of Venom by Star Fox if there ever were citizens there i'd say they were the ones that took charge and fixed Venom. Eledard is becoming just as bad as Venom with the pollution and stuff from Andross trying to build an army...so i'm not sure he'd be too keen on fixing Venom. His forces if anything are a plethora of various mercenaries paid top dollar and probably preached to until they believed Andross to be the one true power. I mean the only person out of the series that is of the monkey species and wants nothing to do with Andross is Dash Bowman. Take into account how Andross could possibly terraform it with an acidic ocean that could cause acid rain. I have more to say but i'd like to see what you gotta say first. SuperCrash64 : zerothesaint : I think that the Venom Sea came later. Not to mention, Star Fox 2 isn't cannon. Anyways, why not put all the polution on a neighboring planet while you take care of your homeland, and still put army building into overdrive? And about his pilots, I think that a lot of Andross's pilots are either robots or native Venomians. It seems a lot of his ships are just drones of some sort. zerothesaint : I think that the Venom Sea came later. Not to mention, Star Fox 2 isn't cannon. So if Andross' army mostly consists of machines, why the heck even terraform Venom at all? Build a giant base to house everyone and everything and be prosperous through that. It doesn't make any sense to do that to a dead planet when he isn't even housing himself there in Venom during the events of SF2. Not to mention there is this: "In Star Fox 2 there's is a beta stage on Venom, with neighborhood places around, can be found in the menu screen by So before you jump the gun, Venom itself may not even be would it should be in the game. At best that could've been what the developers used in the end due to being pressed for time. They wanted to make another Corneria stage because their first one is what hooked people along with the music for it. If you ask me, that's not Venom, that's outback Corneria. I mean, why keep Venom a dead planet through the canon series if there are suppose to be ideas of terraforming it? The only time that Venom is truly mentioned in a terraforming process was from Command and that was with Dash Bowman. Even then, he turns into Andross' prodigy and wants to enslave and kill all who go against his word. EVEN that game is not canon by specific standards. But, who's to say that it wasn't Corneria who did something after Andross' first attack as a means of recovery from it and decided to terraform Venom? As far as I know, our RP is taking place sometime between Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Adventures. In 64, we see the place is barren; there's no sign of terraforming in the base itself (easy route) or in the base exterior where you can see more of the planet (hard route). In Adventures, Andross is over on Dinosaur Planet doing stuff, so I doubt his concern is with Venom at all at that point, though there is I believe seven years between the two games, so that gives sufficient time for this RP to take place. Now, if Andross is over on Dinosaur Planet, which is in the outskirts of the Lylat system, seven years after the Lylat Wars, then we're probably two or three after then. As evident in Fichina's terraforming process, it's not exactly a quick process to terraform a planet with their devices. Most of the team outright refused to go on the planet during Assault because it was still too cold for them. So even if Andross were terraforming the planet (which I personally find highly unlikely), there would not be enough progress to show anything even if the process were still running all the way to Command.
And Sword... you titled this with the intent of using Star Fox 2 as your argument and did so in your initial post for this thread... you cannot use the "not canon" excuse to negate someone else's argument that uses that game without also completely negating your own. Thus, your argument, by your own statements, is invalidated by Star Fox 2 not being canon. So, do you have another frame of reference that you can use in Star Fox (SNES) or Star Fox 64 to back yours? Because if not, then I don't see your idea working without breaking canon. sonikku : Okay, I can't tell you what's going on at Fincha currently in the RPg. It would spoil to much. First of all, Star Fox SNES and Star Fox 64 are accounts of the same war. They're just on different timelines according to Arwingpedia. We are having the RPg Take place During Star Fox 2. According to Arwing Pedia, there are two Star Fox timelines. The SNES timeline, which was never finished. And The SF64 timeline, which is used to this very day. The RPg follows more of the SNES Timeline, with Star Fox 1 and 2 although it also accepts various accounts of the Lylat Wars from both Star Fox 64 and SNES. Part of the reason that I want this is for Character and Story developement. zerothesaint : That is interesting, but why would there be mushrooms then? Last minute edit possibly? Or maybe the planet is okay because of Cornerian terraforming attempts. Okay, I can't tell you what's going on at Fincha currently in the RPg. It would spoil to much. Sword legion : As far as the knowledge of a Beta Corneria, that's mostly all I can ultimately find. If anything they may have tried to switch it up. The possibility Andross having been lucky enough to sneak a base in on Corneria in a more nature-filled area than it being within a city or having it too close to a city to be immediately discovered until Star Fox arrives. I do understand SF2 is by specific means, a finished game. But there are still a couple things in the game that remain a mystery. Was there ever a true purpose to the General Pepper coins? Why are Miyu and Fay "broken" while everyone else isn't overpowered. Why the various ships aside from possible showing of diversity? Why is there no partner A.I. that sticks with you most of the time like in the first game? There's a bunch of things I can pick out. As far as I say, to us, it is a finished game. But there still could've been things the Dev Team wanted to do before their game/project was scrapped so they could keep up in the market with everyone else and create the N64. With Star Fox having been such a big hit i'm sure those guys wanted to push the SNES to the extreme and provide a huge game for all the paying customers to show what the SNES can really do and with a new story and some characters. I will keep searching around but until then that is my argument. I find it hard to believe that is Venom when they've kept it the same even if SNES timeline is no longer canon. You think if there was meant to be some kinda change to Venom, they'd make mention of it, wouldn't they? As far as the knowledge of a Beta Corneria, that's mostly all I can ultimately find.
