Would you rather have rifles that shoot lasers or bullets?  Machine guns or laser beams?  How do you reload blasters?

What's the best futuristic weapon?

I don't think there will be laser guns anytime in the future. I am pretty sure guns will remain shooting bullets, and the guns of the future will usually be upgraded weapons of today...maybe some new weapons here and there. 

Also, laser weapons seem pretty bad...which is shown evidently in Star Wars. Bad aiming by the storm troopers, or was it the gun, or just the effects?

I would guess an energy cartridge. 

If we somehow jump into the future (hypothetical future with no regards to religion) and laser weapons were being manufactured, it might be a better option? Dunno the speed of a shot of a gun with bullets to a gun with lasers...and depending on what type of laser, how much damage.

Also, if you were to make a comparison between the laser guns in Star Wars, guns with bullets would be much more strategical than those laser guns. Sniping - you can see the laser shot when sniping compared to a bullet...even if the laser travels extremely fast, you are still going to see an inkling of a light being emitted by the laser (if lasers are as fat as they are in Star Wars). 

Anyway, I would like to have a laser-shooting gun, but mainly for fun? Dunno what I'd shoot...maybe leaves lol. A play-thing that could probably kill someone...

O would choose the shooting bullets weapon because it can kill more enemies with it's spread, not like the laser gun which shots one laser and has a pretty low fire rate.

Maybe, in the near future, the guns from today will be more upgraded while the lsser gun will remain the same...

My fav. pistol is the Desert Eagle and fav. primary weapon is M40A3 A1 Sniper Rifle or M4A1.

Well laser guns have nice long range so no one could get close enough to attack you. Laser Sword for me.  Plus if anyone sneaks up on me the impact will be even harder when I shoot them up close.

To be honest, I would prefer guns greater than laser weapons. Laser weapons such as ray guns will end a battle instantly, considering a bit of contact with a laser weapon would just disintegrate its target and that would not cause me to be intrigued by such action. I would definitely prefer guns than laser weapons.

Laser weapons! They can break through most walls and seem more interesting than a projectile flung at high speeds. It's more like energy itself being directed at specific points. They will be more lethal since a beam shot horizontally could cut all enemies in half. 

Lasers and plasma weapons are so dull, example in Fallout's I hardly ever even bother to use them.. Old school weapons that use bullets to kill the enemy are my thing. Especially sniper rifles, they are so cool you just lay down in some hill or bush and wait that the enemies come to you and BANG! They don't even know what hit them. : D I'm more like a man of peace than war, but when I play Metal gear solid or Fallout's I just need a knife, pistol and sniper. Those can do the job, you don't need any fancy laserhypercannon's to beat your enemies. Peace.

DEFINETLY Laser. Because photons are the fastest particles known by human. Maybe using batteries to reload. No weapon jammming. Maybe overheating would be a problem, but ballistic weapons overheat too so maybe liquid nitrogen cooling. Also no bullet drop over distance and 100% accuracy.

I would definitely say laser out of the two because there aren't any bullets, rather a powerful laser instead which is so much cooler in my opinion, there wouldn't be as much reliance on reloading, although overheating might be a problem, but I think it would really turn out to be a lot cooler than a projectile which is pretty common today, I think it is possible for laser weapons to be a thing of the future and it would also be pretty cool as well, I think a laser sword or laser cannon/gun would be the two coolest ones though. Cool question by the way. 

I really prefer solid metal projectiles.  Why?  One word:  shields.  It doesn't matter what wonky science you use to explain it, shielding is highly effective against energy weapons.  When you fire that plasma gatling gun or 128mm laser cannon, it splats against the enemy's shields and stops dead... unless the damage is enough to make the shields go down, and even that may not be enough to let residual energy harm the armor in some settings.  Those same shields are often much less able to bleed inertia off a metal cylinder, or completely incapable of it (FTL, anyone?). 

Sure, I get to worry about the armor that energy weaponry tends to ignore, but armor is usually given a lesser priority than shields, it doesn't automatically replenish like the shields do, and it being a visible, tangible thing means you can at least try to aim for a weak spot.

I would like laser weapons because you would have unlimited ammo, but the only thing is that you would have to change to fuel cell once it dies, but it would not die that fast.

Laser weapons as I can then shout Lasers! Just like in sonic Colours.
