So, I got my whole internet problem fixed with this computer, but now I'm facing another, even bigger problem!

I've been trying to install WoW from a cd, so that me and my boyfriend can play it together. Everything goes fine up until installation, where it takes an hour to get to 0.1% on the installation. When it finally reaches 0.4%, my computer just shuts off. There's no error, no freezing, glitches, nothing.

It just shuts off.
This has happened four times now, and I'm a little bit more than frustrated at this point, because I can not find the problem. My anti-virus software hasn't detected anything, I only ran the WoW installation and no other program.

My boyfriend says that it could be that my Nvidia driver is not in the hard drive. I don't even know what that means or how to find out if it is or isn't...

I just need some help guys, please... I'm so done with all these freaking complications...

AlexNightwalker : If you are getting really frustrated, the best thing usually is to get a computer geek friend to help you out in person.

That being said, I certainly don't mind helping from here.

I'm not sure why the computer is crashing. You said it's brand new? It may be that not all the drivers are installed on it.

So do two things:

1. Ask whoever built your computer to give you the exact model and series of your motherboard. Then tell me what it is and I will move on the helping you install tons of monotonous drivers.

2. Find out what graphics card you have. To do that:  open the start menu, and in the search/run bar right there type dxdiag and hit Enter. Then go to the display tab and tell me exactly was is the "Name" listed there.

With that info, I will help you download the drivers you need.

Light Knight : Well, that would be great and everything... And I can give you the specs I know, but at this point that would be useless. . _ .

I'm now afraid to turn it on, because the newest problem is that there's a weird electric-scratchy noise (that's the only way I can describe it) that starts up a few minutes after I turn it on now... The system pretty much crashed on me after the first time the noise started, and I can't even back up my computer now because of that noise. I'm worried that something important fried itself or is frying itself and I don't even know if I should take it in to the local repair people, because it might be something that can't be fixed...

AlexNightwalker : Yes, it sounds like there is something wrong maybe with the power supply. But it's hard to say.

If you have anything important on it, either take the hard drive out yourself, or take it to a repair store and explain the situation.

Light Knight : Okay, since the power supply is hardware, I should be able to replace it. My boyfriend and I are taking it in to our local repair store tomorrow, so hopefully they will be able to help us out.
And luckily, I don't have any files on there that cannot easily be replaced. I keep all of my important files on my two flash drives.
But I do plan on explaining the problem, and might even need to have them turn the computer on there and hear the noise for themselves, because I really can't describe it very well, and its one of those things where you have to hear in order to know.
