Ah, Sonic adventure, If you guys remember correctly, I reviewed Sonic adventure DX yesterday, And what did I think of the game? Well I think That this game Is an amazing 3D platformer that brings sonic back to all of His old roots, The game was challenging, Fun, long, lengthy, and It Is one of my favorite sonic games! So a sequel to the smash Hit just had to be made! The huge thing that matters though Is If this game turned out really good, Or did this game end up like most sequels? Unfinished, Buggy, hard, and just unplayable. You guys are about to see though! This Is Sonic adventure 2 battle for the Nintendo gamecube!

Story-8/10
Well, Here Is how everything starts Off from what I know. This adventure picks up off from where the last adventure ended, Sonic and friends have finally saved the city from that hideous creature chaos. But just then, Robotnik's grandfather Gerald has revealed A brand new hedgehog know as Shadow the hedgehog who Is always calling Himself the "Ultimate Life Form" Shadow has then became of the more prominent characters In the series, So you'll see him more! But anyways, He wants to help Robotnik rule the land and as so we speak! Shadow meets robotnik and G.U.N with some more of the chaos emeralds, But while doing so, He Is starting to have vivid memories of a girl named Maria robotnik, Who needs shadow to complete a serious mission for her. Shadow then takes this as an opportunity for revenge. But just then, G.U.N comes after chado! Shadow then decides to make a run for It to escape the soldiers! The G.U.N soldiers believe It or not think that shadow the hedgehog Is Actually Sonic the hedgehog! (Seriously, Shadow Is black, Sonic Is blue, How can you not tell them apart?) But after that scuffle, The military captures and arrests sonic one second after meeting Up with shadow, Who then teaches Sonic about this so called "Chaos control" Move.

Gameplay-9/10
Just like the last sonic adventure game, This game Is A 3D action adventure platformer where you take control of Sonic the hedgehog, Shadow, tails, eggman, knuckles, and another new character, Rouge the bat! The controls for the game are pretty simple, You use te control stick to move, A to jump, B to attack, And X and Y to do other attacks. Once again, Each kind of level in the game plays differently, Sonic and shadow's levels are about running fast and getting to the End. Tails and eggman focus on running around In a mech suit shooting robots and such. Lastly, Knuckles and rouge focus on treasure hunting. You'll be collecting tons of goodies In your quest along the way, Such as rings, shields, extra lives, etc. The most notable new?Thing about this game for me Is the new rank system, Your amount of points earned the the level can earn you a grade of A B C D or E, With A of course being the best, And E being the worst. Try your best to get An A! Also like sonic adventure one, You'll be collecting emblems In each level, There are about 5 of them per Level divided Into separate challenges, There Is get to the end like usual, Collect 100 rings, Find the lost chao, Finish Under a certain time, And Hard mode, Which Isn't really that hard to me. There are two distinct stories to play through In this game. Team good with Sonic Tails And Knuckles, And Team Evil With Shadow Robotnik And Rouge. Every once In A while, You will have to fight and defeat an huge powerful boss fight, Such as biolizard, A big lizard that packs a HUGE punch, Mad dog, A green G.U.N robot that chases after Sonic earlier In the game, And well, Yeah! The bosses In this game take alot of strategy timing and thinking before You can win, And That Is what adds to the challenge! These guys are tough, So be careful! Lastly, There Is the chao garden where you can raise your own chao and feed him, nourish him, and have Him turn Into an even powerful chao like never before! Anyways, That Is It for the gameplay!

Graphics-9/10
This game was released about 2-3 months after the gamecube's launch, And about 11 or so years later, This Is probably one of the prettiest sonic games I have layed my eyes On In a while! What I like about this though Is the overall mood of the game! Earlier In the game, Things and such feel a little "Dark" and such, But later on everything starts to lighten up alot! But as we were saying, Each level of the game is bright, colorful, big, cartoony, vast, and Is just a blast to play after the last! You'll take sonic and his friends places not even us humans could explore! You'll take them through space, You'll take them through the city, You'll take them through an Egyptian temple, Heck! You'll even take them through jail! Now for the characters, The cast this time around has really boosted up to be honest! We have sonic, tails, knuckles, robotnik, And two new characters who have then became prominent characters In the series, Rouge the bat And Shadow the hedgehog! They are all likable characters though! And that Is good! The In-game HUD Is pretty self explanatory, It once again displays your amount of rings, Your current score for the level, How much time you have wasted In a level, and your current amount of lives Left, lose all your lives and It is game over! Anyways, That Is It for the gameplay!

Sound-8/10
Sonic games are really no stranger when It comes to awesome furious catchy and fast paced music, And this Is really really no exception! This game now introduces the hit song by crush 40 Live and learn, And this song has been one of my favorites from the series as well! It has suspense, awesome guitar riffs, and everything else you come to expect from sonic! But anyways, The music In this game Is pretty good! Each level after the last has really catchy bright and just overall cartoony music that you have all come to expect from the blue hedgehog, We have the fast paced fast and furious City Escape sung by Tony harnell where He sings about escaping from the City, We have The metal harbor song that really wants us to get up and dance considering how fast pace the song Itself sounds, and so on! Now for the sound effects, They are once again your typical stuff, You get booms, thuds, boings, bronks, chimes, rings, footsteps, and all other stuff you come to expect from sonic games, They aren't the greatest sound effects ever, But oh well! Now for the voice acting, And boy Is It better then ever! Once again, We have Ryan drummond as sonic, Connor bringeas as Tails, Scott drier as Knuckles, and yeah! The voices for the character really suit theirselves, Sonic sounds like your typical carefree leader who does anything It takes to become the best, Tails sounds like your really carrasmatic sidekick, And knuckles sounds like your typical rough tough and rowdy muscles of the group, They are all great! Anyways, That Is It for the sound!

Addictiveness-9/10
This game really hits me and my mind when I think to myself the fun sonic games, And this Is really no exception! The game offers tons of fun and excitement the whole way through! And here is why I say so! Well first, The feel of each action levels, Sonic and shadow's levels really harken me back to the days of Sonic the hedgehog one for the Sega genesis, Running fast, defeating enemies, collecting rings, And just stopping the bad guys! Tails and eggman's levels harken me back to when I used to play water guns with all my friends shooting each other and just having a really fun time And Rouge and knuckle's levels harken me back to when I go around my house looking for any stuff that I have misplaced, Eitherways, It Is still pretty enjoyable no matter what! Lastly, It Is getting some of the certain emblems, Some of those emblems have been troubling me for the past few years, And getting and completing most of them just feels SO rewarding after all of your patience and effort! Anyways, That Is It for the addictiveness!

Depth-10/10
This game Is believe It or not even bigger then the last sonic adventure game! And here Is why! Well to start, There are two different stories to play in this game, Good and evil, And both of them take about 2-3 hours to complete, And after that comes the final story to finish off the game! And that Is pretty nifty! Second, The emblems! There are over 120 of them through over 15 levels! And getting all of them unlocks a 3D version of Green hill zone to celebrate the 10th anniversary of sonic! Lastly, There are also some multiplayer modes as well, There Is the kart racing mode where you can race through a big track to the finish, And there Is a standard multiplayer mode where one player can play as someone from the good side and another player can play as someone from the bad side, Depending on who you pick (I:E Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Robotnik) You will play what the respective character plays In the action levels, Running, shooting, and treasure hunting. And they are all really fun! There Is lastly a boss rush mode where you can play the team hero and team evil bosses all In a certain order to get a good time, And that Is really really fun! Anyways, That Is It for the depth!

Difficulty-7/10
This game never really gave me trouble In some of the earlier stages, But there ARE some stages that Have troubled me to absolutely no end! One example of this Is rouge's level Mad space, Here, you are controlling rouge through space collecting the emeralds as usual, But It all starts with the hint computers! The hint computers are backwards and you have to pause the game to read It forwards! Some of the bosses like King boom boo?And final biolizard can trouble you too, But It Is Sega! So what To expect? There are other levels that have troubled me alot, But I don't really have time to explain that!

Overall-9.5/10
This game was just absolutely the perfect sequel In my opinion! I mean, This game has everything that a great sequel needs, New characters, New powers, and everything else I should tell you! But as we were saying, I gave this game a 9.5 because It Is fun, fast, challenging, big, and It really improves On the original and stays true to sonic's roots! But I got to go now!
