Welcome to my review. I know I haven't made a review in a while but anyways. While you think Kaizo Mario and that are challenging there is another challenging game on here that has stared into the abyss for way too long. But, however I will not let them happen for much longer as I review Super Mario Death Land. While there are a few old reviews for this game they don't count as reviews as they don't meet the 100 word requirement.
Story N/A.
There is no story known behind this game. I have not gotten to the end and there is no youtube videos about the game. So I can't tell you. If I was able to get to the end (damn level 3) I would tell you.
Gameplay 8/10
Basically to make it long story short the game must take control of Mario or Luigi (you can take both) and beat this game. (Which is around 10 levels) The controls are the controls of the original super mario world. Which are a to speed up, x to spin jump (has advantages and disadvantages) and the normal jump which is accomplished with the"z" key. Now there are a whole bunch of other things for controls like a to speed up and throw fire balls. A is also the most important key n the game if you want to speed run a game that is based on Super Mario World. A will also allow you to fly if you have the feather (which is also known the cape.) X as well will throw fire balls if you have the fire flower power up.
Sound 8/10
The sound is basically the same from Super Mario World. So there isn't all that much to say here and I didn't want to steal anyone else's hard work and make my job easier because I'm not really that worried about the rewards and CP and all that. I can simply make more reviews and there would be more
Viz and CP for me.
Graphics 8/10
As I said before with the sound this is basically the same as Super Mario World except 1 water tile. It is not featured in the real game. It is slightly lighter than the one featured in Super Mario World. I do not want to copy some one elses work on the graphics for Super Mario World. I mean, we're not allowed to right. Even if we give them credit. I just think its plain wrong.
Depth 10/10
I know I said it has 10 levels but still....its called Super Mario Death Land for a reason. The levels aren't long some of them are puzzle like levels (theres a lot of time on this level to figure it out thankfully, I know how to pass it but I refuse to spoil the answer and wreck the point of you trying to figure the puzzle out.)
Difficulty 9/10
The reason I said depth 10/10 was because of how difficult this game is. If you read the title of the first level you're able to do that with no sweat. Anyone can do that if they figure out what keys to press. But afterwards the difficulty has a major increase from 1 which is very simple to 2 which is a puzzle (not all that hard as soon as I thought about it.) But there is a part halfway into level 3 which I have no idea how to pass.
Overall 8.6/10
If you are not all that good at Mario I say you don't play this. You will probably find it impossible. But if you are quite good at Mario this should still be a good and fun challenge.
