...you know what guys i am really freaking tired you know what i am tired of...Absol dont act like you dont know about this pokemon every pokemon fan does i have to constantly hear about OMG ABSOL IS THE BEST FREAKING THING EVER forget it absol is not the best thing ever not even in the game if you like it fine but i am going to crush your dreams and tell you why i dont like this pokemon TO THE REVIEW



MOVE SET



At the start Absol will only have scratch and feint now these are...actually pretty good moves to start off not decent but good so...okay this is not so bad

At level 4 we get leer...dont use it


At level 9 we get quick attack not very useful but keep this for a little bit it will come in handy sometimes i assure you


Now at level 12 we get pursuit a decent dark type move with a base damage of 40 this is a decent dark type move so use it


At level 17 we get taunt...dont use it


Now at level 20 we get bite this is going to be pursuits replacement so get rid of pursuit and just get this move


At level 25 we get double team...i know i am a broken record but dont use it


At level 28 we get slash a decent normal type move that deals 70 damage i suggest you keep this move because its going to be pretty effective for now


Alright at level 33 we get sword dance KEEP THIS MOVE its going to be so effective if you have an extra slot please take it


Now at level 36 we get a...odd move for this pokemon to have and thats future sight...yeah kind of weird for a dark type to have this since psychic is basically the mortal enemy of dark but hey its a...decent move use it if you want but i dont think it works with this pokemon


at level 41 we get night slash one of my favorite dark type moves now this move has a base attack damage of 70 and has an EXTREMELY high critical hit chance i say take it


Now at level 44 we get detect and this move is similar to quick attack its not very effective but it could be handy sometimes i say keep it in you back pocket if you have an extra slot


Alright at level 49 we get psycho cut now this is basically the psychic types answer to the dark types night slash it does the exact same thing i mean it the same damage the same hit chance and even the same effect so dont use this move there is no point but hey if you want it be my guess


Now at level 52 we get night slashes replacement known as sucker punch this move does 80 damage and always hits first if the target is using a move that does damage and my god this is the best move this thing learns on its own i mean it this is a VERY VERY VERY good move not great but good use it


At level 57 we get razor wind this move could be good for this pokemon but...its not here is why absol has terrible special attack stats and i am going to get to that later but use it if you want


At level 60 we get me first now this move allows the user to always go first no matter what for 3-5 turns


AND FINALLY to wrap this all up at level 65 we get perish song now when the user does this move all pokemon that were on the field will faint...even when you switch out...i am serious now they did tweak this in gen 4 so that the pokemon that used this move will faint to now this is a...fun move so i would use it when i am having fun not when i want to win so use it if you want but i wont


STATS


.....you know me and my friends always joke about absols stats bye saying that absols stats are like anime now you anime guys know that Japanese animation puts nearly EVERYTHING INTO THE FIGHT SCENCES and i am not talking about alot of animation i am talking about nearly 80% of there animation you guys know what i am talking about

And those are just a few examples now how does absol fit into all of this...he puts almost ALL ITS STATS INTO ITS ATTACK i mean holy crap its has a base attack stat of 130 thats...so weird yet it could...just could be effective if used correctly but anyway its lowest stat is its health..okay that might be a problem but still its not that bad...oh wait its second lowest stat is its defense...*sigh* yeah this things stats suck....

And guys thats the best i could do i mean holy crap this things tms are terrible but i quickly took advantage of absols high attack stat bye using hone claws now all you need to do is use that moves for about 2X and you will have a pokemon with a attack stat that reaches LEGENDARY LEVELS i mean it his attack stat will reach legendary pokemon levels but really...you can use and move you want as long as its a physical attack move and you have hone claws you can put anything together so this one is all up to you guys?

Effectiveness in rival in gyms

Okay i am just going to get this out of the way its not good in gyms...its really really not its okay for fun but not for serious play now for your rival on the other hand...eh its okay this thing can put up a fight against your rival its like what i said in my abra review it will go down but it will put up a decent fight besides absol on has 2 weaknesses sadly those are found in the games alot and those are bug and fighting type moves and...okay no much to say here i am sorry guys but there is not much to go on when i am reviewing certain pokemon so....FINAL THOUGHTS


Final thoughts: and thats absol and is it really as bad as i say it is...yes and no it is obviously a fun pokemon to use and i can see why alot of people like it but this thing is just bad not bad to the point where it is just terrible and not able to use just bad i dont hate this pokemon but i really dislike it but hey thats just my logical nature its the same reason why i never picked charmander because its technically the worst starter out of the 3 so have fun with your little pokemon just keep it as far away from me as possible...

I completely disagree. Psycho cut is super-handy to counter fighting types. That high crit chance with night slash, psycho cut, shadow claw, and slash combined with super luck and possibly an item for that is OP. I'd say a good move set would be:

-Night slash
-Psycho cut
-Shadow claw
-Swords dance 

Detect is not like quick attack, it's like protect. His stats aren't made to be defensive, he's made to wreck and chaus chaos in your opponent's team. I think you are being too harsh on absol. If you use it the correct way, it is a monster.

Oh and btw, a tip. Don't make long sentences like this:

If you split it up into short parts with a Cap and a dot, like this:

Blablabla. (new topic)Blablabla. Thisandthat.

It will look more professional. Just my opinion.

What you forgot to mention was absol's speed stats a Pokemon can't land a move on absol if the Pokemon already has fainted.

austipokedude : ugh...okay dont take this the wrong way but i devote about 4-8 hours of my day training with the pokemon before i post my review of the pokemon and that includes

Facing every trainer 
Facing every gym from every game that the pokemon is in 
fighting ALL rivals in the pokemon games that the pokemon i am reviwing  is in  so for this case i had to beat the rivals from 3rd gen 4th gen and 5th gen
fighting the elite 4 and once again every elite 4 from the game the pokemon is in 
i have to train the pokemon enough so it gets to the last move in its set so i had to get it to level 65 without rare candys 

So once again do not take this the wrong way but...i think i know the pokemon hey the the whole point of these is for me and the reader to get a better feel of the pokemon and to discover if its right for you or not but still thank for the feedback i love it i love failing it helps me get better and dont be afraid to point out problems its the only way im gonna learn 

Also i have been getting some points bye alot of people if i get about 3 more points...i may change the rating to a 3/5.

Ok I understand but absol only has two weaknesses bug and fighting and you got to agree that there are barely any trainers that use both fighting types and bug types in the game.

I'm not feeling this review. I'm sorry, but you insult Absol, praise him, and insult him again. You say he's overrated, but, other than his defense, he really is the best thing ever. I'm not letting my opinion get in the way here, trust me, but you're getting a bit biased here, bud.

goodboy : well...yeah i am kind of biased but i just dont get the point of absol being on a team its...okay  i guess you can call this pokemon good but i dont see it having much of a roll does it lead a team...?i guess you can use it to take down psychic types but still there are plenty of other choices out there that can replace this thing and even defeat its not invincible all you need is a pokemon with brute force and a good defense like tyranitar for example or golem kangaskhan snorlax you dont even need a type advantage all you need is something with a decent attack and good defense if you use absol and use sword dance or hone claws to raise its attack how are you going to survive it there is not much of a point to attack right away because you will do alot of damage but trust me once your done attacking you will fall first

okay i will give you this though its not bad..its good there i say it maybe if i used it a little more and i got a bit more of a feel with it i could call it great but...sorry i just dont get the hype of it
