Was settling down with my daughter for half hour so she could watch me train up on Pokémon fire red USA edition. I wasn't watching what I was doing and pressed F2 right at the start . And when it was too late to realise and I pressed F4 was just re loading the start screen.

been reading how VIZZED stores your info over the past week but alas I can not see any save file in the one on my computer. So was just wondering if there was a small slight chance that you have some sort of small save backed up on to your server .As when I was on it yesterday 19/08/2013 was all fine and good

oh and just before I go....did I mention I was literally AT the elite four and was training up for them 

luckily my daughter didn't see her old man break down in to a flood of tears even though I felt like it and still do  

and still in a decision if I should just move on find another game on here or start all over again

and one last thing I also managed to get 2 snorlaxs on that game as well as getting a shiny zubat last night

Have you tried loading your save via in game? I don't think the save states will affect the in-game saves, so try that one first.

If you mean by in game " saving it within Pokémon " 

I never did that was always a job of F4 and F2 to load where I left off!

That's really bad. Unfortunately, the site owner stated that Vizzed no longer stores save files. Thread where I got the information from.

It's best to use both in-game saves and the Vizzed save states, just in case this sort of thing happens again. I'm really sorry about what had happened.  

Ok I got the F2 things mixed up.

ah well looks like I will have to start again and back up copies of my save states and also try in game saves just to make sure 

Alright then, here's some tips-

Start > All Programs > Vizzed Retro Game Room > Open Plug in Data Folder > User-xxxxxx (your Vizzed ID) > VBA > Saves

These are your save states. The ones that say .sav at the end are the in-game saves, the ones that say .sgm are the F2/F4 save states. Copy those and put them in another folder away from the Vizzed folder as backup. That way, if you end up making a mistake, you can access the backups and replace the ones in the Vizzed folder with them.

Thank you. I was planning to do that this time as well as in game save and also copying the file and having it kept on my phone just to be extra cautious. Only takes a few moment to do so its not a problem  

shouldn't take me so long to get through things now as I know what I doing. But there are some mazes/ places on that game I was so glad to get through and vowed I would never go back there again. 

Oh no, I keep getting scared that I am going to do that exact thing, I get pretty bad with saving, most of the time when I save in RGR it's "Ok you got this it's F2 right not F4, *checks screen* ok F2, now walk a few steps and hit F4"

He he bad inst it. There was one time I didn't save it but luckily I didn't have to go far from where I miss saved. But defiantly making a copy of m save now and keep one on my phone. Just got to make a folder on my phone so that I can store it there

But wouldn't you agree that the hardship of a game is what makes the game worth playing through? Anyways, since it's encouraged to not prolong a thread that has found its solution-
