Gun-Nac is a classic bullet hell game that somehow flew under the radar.

The visuals are crisp and vibrant. Everything is so colorful and detailed. However, one must be careful not to lose oneself amidst all the screen clutter. The screen can be so full of different things that it is difficult to keep track of where you are. The game has a very distinct Japanese theme.

The sound is good, but I didn't find most of the music to be particularly memorable. The shop music, however, will be stuck in your head for years to come.

The game is very difficult, keeping in line with the bullet hell genre. It will not only test your skills, but also your endurance, as levels are quite long.

Game play itself is simple; just move and shoot. However, many things have to be kept in mind. First and foremost, do not lose track of your ship. It may sound simple, and if it does, you are in for a rude awakening. Which power-ups you pick up are also important. Picking up the same type of weapon (indicated by the numbered tiles) will increase it's power. Picking up a new weapon type (often by accident) could mean being stuck with an inferior or awkward weapon, and possible even de-power it all together. The letter tiles indicate different types of bombs, though I find which type of bomb you use to be slightly less important. Money you pick up can be used at the end of level shop, where you can buy upgrades. Dying resets your upgrades.

The plot is basically just an excuse plot, and as such, pretty inconsequential.

I would most definitely recommend this game.

I think you are very descriptive but I would have liked to hear your take on the addictiveness/depth aspect. This game sounds like it's something that I would play, thanks for the tip...
