Welcome to my review on super Mario world (new levels)

Story 4/10

The story of this is practically the same, princess toadstool has been kidnapped and you need to defeat bowser to rescue her. So basically its the same old same old plot as usual. There needs to be a ROM  hack on here with a different plot, like kaizo Mario 3 instead of trying to rescue princess peach I believe in that game you have to kill her. Those kind of different plots seems to make me want to try to beat the game.

Game play 6/10

The game play in this game is so smooth, Its basically super mario world all over again  with a few small differences in each levels. But I have to deduct some points for game play because it is basically a copy of super mario world. It is basically a 1 level ROM hack. The controls are simple to this game. X to do a spin jump, which is the best jump for when you're going for speed as you can do a spin jump without having to let go of the A key. The a key lets you run faster and ultimately helps you jump further distances. There will be times when the normal jump (using the z key) is the best option. I can't really explain why this is the case. But the normal jump lets you go higher and in some cases you will need to hold down the a key and when you need to jump let go for the a key and press the z key. There is a ROM hack I play where that is the case. It is called super mario world the lost levels.

The Graphics 8/10

The graphics this game has is basically the super Mario world graphics and blocks as I mentioned earlier this ROM hack only has one level that is changed. The rest is all the same with super Mario World. So there isn't much to say about the graphics. Except for the fact that the guy who made this has added a few custom blocks. I am not sure how I can describe them so that is the worst thing about it. There is one custom block that is basically a red coin and it has wings. I think its meant to replicate the goomba that drops those tiny goombas which slow you down heavily.

Sound 8/10

The sound in this game is basically all the music and all that from super mario world. So there isn't much to say about this.

Addictiveness 10/10
This is basically as fun as the original Super Mario World due to the level with the custom blocks and the level where in one part of it you can pick up a blue block I believe it is and it can change colors. The colors it can change to is: yellow, red and green. I mean, its not like you're going to find all the secret levels in one sitting. Mind you there is like 40 or so secret exits. I don't know the exact amount because I haven't unlocked them all. (I've gotten like 20 secret levels unlocked and have no interest trying to get to 30 or so.)

Depth 8/10

The rating of the depth on this game heavily depends if you are doing a speed run or not. If you are doing a speed run it also depends if you are going for the quickest time you can or 100% completion with 120 exits. 120 exits will take a good speed runner nearly 100 minutes but it can take 80 minutes for a TAS run. Speed runs for fastest completion possible is around 10 minutes if you can do it correctly. If you have trouble with some levels its going to be well over 5 hours or so. (I am at the last level and it took me like 7 hours or so with the top secret area thing unlocked.) Valley Of Bowser 1 I believe will give you a lot of trouble as it will be a very slow level. But with no doubt the slowest level is bowser.

Difficulty 6/10

It isn't really that hard at first, but over time it becomes harder but a good thing is the fact that you can replay levels. If you haven't unlocked the top secret area I suggest you use donut plains 1 for the capes as there are a few super koopas which will yield you a cape if you don't do a spin jump on them. The spin jump destroys them and does not yield you a cape. Which is also known as the feather.

Overall 8.3/10

After completing the first level of this game there isn't much point of playing it as its basically the super mario worlds level but if you want to play on this one instead and try to find the custom blocks I was talking about you are more than welcome to continue playing. I am not sure which level the custom blocks with the green blocks and that are in so you will have to spend some time and look around for it.

It was much harder for me to go into detail on my first one but I tried my hardest, since its basically a 5 minute game and then you can't go any further.

The review is very well ordered and reads pretty good. Good job. You talk about using keys (Z key, etc.) You should seriously consider getting a game controller that plugs into USB. I picked up a Logitech Gamepad F310 from BestBuy for just under $30. It should make game play more smooth.
