Hoops was an attempt to bring playground style basketball to life on the NES.  However, it fails miserably.  The game has no depth, and pretty much no skill required.  You just choose a character, move around a little bit, and try to throw up a shot and pray it goes in.  There is no way to keep the ball from being stolen, it'll just randomly happen when the opponent walks through you.  And if you move the wrong way, you will get called for a charging foul, which you will see a lot of.

The 2v2 mode is a little better, because at least you can pass in it, but all in all it's just more of the same crap.

The best basketball game on the NES remains as Tecmo NBA Basketball.  It honestly isn't even close.

Avoid this game like the plague.

Good review. It's simple and get's to the point. Two key parts to a review are missing.
First, you didn't say it it was hard or not. First you said you just move around and throw the ball, but then you said if you move the wrong way you'll get a foul... Was it annoying?
And second, was the sound good? You didn't talk about that at all.

I'm going to be out and honest and i'm going to say that this review isn't so good. You gave out good information yet I'm not sure if this was enough information to show how this game is good. Basically this review needed details, also you could put in the categories to show how this game bad. And you could make this review a little well organized. Besides all of this I guess this review wasn't anything to good yet you did pretty good on this and you did put in somewhat good. You also could add more words to this detail. Anyway try to make a seemingly better review than this one and keep up the somewhat good work.

I'm new to vizzed, but I really want to get into writing reviews.  The only thing I love as much as retro games is writing.
