Minecraft, yet another game that I like. Why is that? Well, it has no guidelines, no rules, and no commander or mole wearing an army jacket yelling orders at you. Anything is possible in this game(except for creating circles, because they're impossibru). But what makes Minecraft such a loved game by the public? Lets find out...
Okay, Graphics-10. A bunch of blocks? No circles, no rectangles, no triangles? Rubbish! ...That is what I used to think, but it actually works really well and makes the game simpler. Grass looks like grass, stone looks like stone, and lava looks like...uh, pizza. The blocks make the game much simpler, and they are all designed to look like their real life counterparts. The graphics are basically that, and while they are no Crysis 3, they are new and fresh(before they were being used in games like Castleminer Z, Total Miner Forge etc.).
Sounds-10. Well, the cow sounds like a cow, the sheep sounds like a sheep, the chicken sounds like a chicken and zombie sounds like a zombie. No problem, they all sound natural, and I can find no disadvantage to the sound. You can hear the water flowing in caves sometimes, and the lava beneath you. Another thing you can hear, mainly at night, is SSSSSSSS and then you're most likely dead.
Addictiveness-10. You saw this coming-once you start, there's no stopping until it's all done! And when it''s done, you must build MORE. If you start building a town on creative, it's boring, and then you build one thing, you must build another, build the redstone contraptions and Survival is even more addicting, for me.
Story-0. Yep. Move along. No story, just building.
Depth-9. The world on PC is near enough endless, so that would get a 10, but on Xbox, it is different. It eventually ends, and you realize that your entire world is surrounded by water, once you get to Lands End. The cave systems, however, are near enough impossible to explore fully, and many things are hidden down there, waiting to be discovered. The game has a lot to offer because of the amount of things that can be made. But that's all I can think of...
Difficulty-0. The game can be put on creative or peaceful, and when it is on normal/easy/hard, it is still terribly easy, with no challenge...and besides, pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, and swords are optional;you can use your fist for EVERYTHING.
That was a really, really short review, but I couldn't think of anything to put-the game is just there for you to basically build upon the world, kill the local creatures, destroy the environment, ransack villages whose citizens have survived through hard times, steal the Earth of its minerals, build torturous redstone machines, capture animals and lock them in farms, separate families of mobs, loot the ancient temples in jungles and deserts, loot the strongholds enderground, visit hell, kill the creatures in hell, loot hell, leave hell, enter space, kill the inhabitants, kill their leader, loot space, take it's prized possession, leave space, and repeat everything all over again...
So, lets do a recount of scores: Graphics-10 Sounds-10 Addictiveness-10 Story-0 Depth-9 Difficulty-0
According to mean, the average score should be...6.5. Rather low... Minecraft, yet another game that I like. Why is that?
