Fantasia, It was probally one of the greatest Disney movies at the time, It had music, It had action, It had everything! Including a video game adaption to go along with It. This is fantasia for the Sega genesis, My memories are quite fond of this game, But Is It as bad as I remember It? You tell me.

The main plot behind this game Is That One quite day In Mickey mouse's world, Every single one of the many music notes has been stolen from It's rightful place! Now It is up to YOU to adventure through more then 5 big worlds in order to retrieve all of the stolen notes and write the wrongs for whoever stole them in the first place! Well I think that Is the story.
Gameplay-5/10
Fantasia Is your typical 2D side scroller, you control our favorite hero Mickey in a wizard's robe as you travel through more then 5 big worlds in total collecting back all of the stolen notes, Sounds simple right? WRONG! One of the first problems with this game is that You cannot actually jump on enemies to kill them, instead you have press down on the D-Pad right when you jump on the enemy, I swear to god, Mickey needs to take lessons from Mario. The second problem Is how floaty everything feels! When jumping in the air, You feel like your floating in space rather then in actual air, It's frustrating, I know, And the icing on the cake, every single time you are hurt by an enemy, The game fail-horns you! Way to taunt us Disney. Along the way, you will be fighting your typical enemies, Brooms, pelicans, ballerina hippos, fiery heads, etc. The controls are pretty simple, you can adjust them in he start screen if You want, But A is attack 1, B is attack 2, And C is jump. And the enemies are all area-specific by the way.
Graphics-8/10
If there is one thing that the developers got right, It is the graphics and the overall feel of the games, The graphics are actually pretty good! Considering this game was made at the time of way better games on the genesis at the time, Like Sonic the hedgehog, bonanza bros, etc. As for the character sprites, They are average, Everything looks pretty recognizable, such as Mickey himself, those ballerina hippos from the movie, etc. The HUD is pretty self explanatory, It shows your amount of spells, lives left, and health. One thing though, some of the levels are too dark, such as the last level.

Wow Disney, You guys made this game at the time the genesis was made, and you tell me you couldn't get any much of the soundtrack from the movie? Oh well, the music is pretty bland and repetitive for what It's worth, And let me tell you, this game has the worst rendition of The rite of spring I have ever heard! Oh well for the sound effects, they are your typical stuff, you have boings, sparkles, booms, and you even get the fail-horn at you everytime you are hurt!

Oh my god, I remembered getting so bored of this game after like what? The second level? This is one of those games that You won't even want to play for even more then an hour! I have played the game on normal and hard as well and did not have any fun with those difficulty levels.

Do you really think you are going to play this game for more then 5 minutes? No! Btw, the game is pretty short for a genesis game, It is over 5 worlds long, So you can probably beat It in about 2 hours or so, considering you collect as much stuff as you can. And there is nothing else to do after that, The ending sucks as well, All that trouble and pain, and you just get a picture of Mickey handshaking a dude? No, just no.

This is probably one of the hardest genesis games I have ever played! I remembered Having so much trouble with this game in the later levels because of How much stuff they throw at you, I swear to god, It's so annoying, I was not able to beat this game without an emulator and savestates, Yes I did own this game on a real console, It sucks to be me, paying about full price for a game like this? Count me out.

So in general, You're better off spending your money on the actual DVD then this! It's the best thing to do. I gave this game a 4.8 because ho hard broken and unplayable It is, so buy something else with your money, like Vectorman! But not this! Avoid this game at all costs. No doubt about it!
