Threads like, "What time did you wake up today?" or any other general thread would probably get lots of replies because it is a question that can easily be answered.

Another reason might be because of the user's popularity, or the subject of the thread. I know when i made my sports elimination thread when the elimination threads were really going strong, it got blown up. But, I made a thread about some sports stuff that was kind of old, it did not get a lot of attention.
