Still on GBA Pokémon: after Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red and Leaf Green, a new episode from all discover. GAMEPLAY COLOR EMERALD As in almost all the adventures set in the world of Pokémon, even these sees the player play as a young Pokémon trainer in his initiatory journey around the continent in search of Hoenn Pokémon to catch and train to become the best in the world and aspire to the prestigious title that awaits those who defeats all the great chiefs Gym, conquering the medals. However, unlike the first episodes for Game Boy and Game Boy Color, chapters for GBA are a plot slightly more complex and compelling: not only is there a world of discovery and many coaches to beat, but also an apocalyptic threat deal with. If in Ruby and Sapphire that was represented by Team Aqua and Magma and the two Pokémon that they were trying to awaken Groudon and Kyogre, because of the cataclysms, in Pokémon Emerald there's still more the centrality of the adventure: to threaten Hoenn is Rayquaza in fact, a divine Pokémon can really unleash the end of the world. To stop it, you have the power to get Groudon and Kyogre, and here we see involved the Team Aqua and Magma, to which we will have to prevent capture of the two (not so) Pocket Monsters. The plot is still a mere pretext to begin the journey of our alter-ego: Emerald is played exactly like all the other Pokémon and, more precisely, as Ruby and Sapphire. They come back so many elements that characterized the two episodes Advance, but without 'substantial changes to the already tried and tested gameplay, however, such as 2 vs 2 fights, that if in Ruby and Sapphire were unfortunately very rare in Emerald are far more common. The Pokémon to catch are always more than 250 (in this case, owning the two Game Cube games, Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD, it helps to complete the Pokédex), but only six at a time may accompany us in our raids: select your team is always an extremely strategic, in the face of those who say that Pokémon is a game for children. Pokémon is, and remains, an extremely complex RPG atypical beyond the mere level-up unrestrained, and in Emerald what 'is known especially addressing the all-new side-quests, especially the final, the tactical skill of the player is required at the highest level, along with a deep knowledge of every creature, its statistics and abilities. Pokémon Emerald Pokémon Emerald Pokémon Emerald GRAPHIC & SOUND Pokémon Emerald has minimal differences from the technical point of view, compared to Ruby and Sapphire. Though the hardware is not being squeezed to the maximum as has happened in similar two-dimensional titles like Kingdom Hearts, Golden Sun 2 or Mario & Luigi, the yield is excellent audiovisual: the locations are well kept and full of detail, approaching as graphic style to The Legend of Zelda. Everything is pacioccoso and colorful, and there are nice touches like sandstorms, reflections on water and so on. The animations on the field are basic and limited to what little they do sprites while browsing, while in the fighting between their Pokémon have been added: missing in Ruby and Sapphire, Emerald in the large and well-kept sprite of Pokémon enjoy some frames animations, nothing earth-shattering but still pleasant to look at. On the sound side, the excellent remix of the classic themes of the series and the company always different music, both in combat and on the march: cheerful, carefree, perfectly match the pace of the game, without ever being intrusive or annoying. A clear example of how the appearance is marginal compared to the gameplay, but also of how this can also be cured without an extravagant excess research.
