Well, upon viewing this game originally; I must admit that I was intrigued as a 3rd gen remake is one we all wish for. The creator of this has clearly tried to do so here and all in all, the game was pretty nice.
Graphics
- I rated the graphics a 9/10 because clearly, the main point of this hack was to make the game much more aesthetically pleasing; taking it away from the typical third gen graphics. Throughout, the graphics have been improved and it is nicer to look at. These improvements are really the only things that have made a dramatic impact on the game. I will admit, however, that some of this is sloppy; with most buildings having no changes to them at all. This meant that in some key areas, there were no changes to the game. There were some tiles which you could walk on that you shouldn't and vice versa, which was a shame. Another minuscule issue I had was Magnezone's sprite on the party view, which went outside the area it should have done while moving.
Sound
- Not much to say; I believe there were no changes.
Addictiveness
- The issue here was that the game was essentially the same as the original which while primarily being gripping, I now find to be quite dull. I came to this website to find other games and I believe other users do to and may find this to be fairly boring. I only played the whole way through because of a couple of cave additions I'd seen earlier in the game and because I hope there would be some sort of added post story; which there isn't really.
Story
- Same as before, boy gets Pokemon. Boy beats gyms. Boy beats enemy team. Boy becomes champion. No changes to a fairly monotonous story to begin with which was a shame.
Depth
- In some respects, this game does have more depth to it. With more evolutions, including 4th gen ones, I felt like this game had a nice little addition to it. Plus, as mentioned before, there are new caves to explore and so despite this only taking a short time; it was nice that there were some major changes implemented.
Difficulty
- There is no change in difficulty, the game is as easy to beat as before which was ultimately very easy anyway.
A few other things to add. The new evolutions, I guess, have taken the place of other Pokemon as, for instance, Gallade only offers a small amount of experience. This kind of thing bugs me a bit because it seems like a lot of work for very little. As a whole; the game might be worth playing, I didn't hate it, nor did I love it.
