Really? I can't believe that I am the first person to give a review for this game. This was the best sports game I've ever played on the NES back in the day, and it still is today! It's a real shame that no one has submitted any reviews.

Anyway, if you're a fan of the sport of baseball and are just now finding this game for the first time (or are just now reading this review), then I STRONGLY suggest you play this game! It is a very easy game to play once you get used to it, and for the NES the game play is "as smooth as a babies bottom" and the graphics are amazing! I remember it was a very interesting game when it came out because you had the ability to"create your own team" and after each game you could level up the stats and abilities for all the players on your team. Most of the stats are recorded as well, for example ERA, HR, Hits, and even Stolen Bases (I think). You could also sign free agents, release players you don't think you'll need, and even rename players after real MLB stars or just people you know in the real world; all while earning money! The game play music wasn't half bad either. Now, after playing the game for countless hours in the past (and probably an average of 2 hours-a-day present day) I could pick up that soundtrack from a mile away! If your new to the game, then I recommend you start playing with the Chicago Fireballs. Sure, their uniforms look kind of pink and unmanly, but they pack a powerful punch when it all comes down to the plate. In all seriousness, if I hadn't known about this website, I would have went on Amazon.com and bought another NES just to play this game!
Yeah it's that good
The only negative aspect I can pull out of this Godsend is the fact that, in some cases, if the ball is hit into left-center or right-center field, then the computer will take over and the players won't move the way you want until the ball hits the ground and you've already missed the out. You get used to it and I've found that, in this case, you won't be able to control the CF but you will be able to control the left and right. So, if it looks like the CF will catch it but you can't control him, then you'll have to catch the ball with either the LF or RF. I know now that the PSP has a Baseball Stars 2, but it doesn't look or play like the original. Thanks to Dave, I can play this game whenever! I also don't have to worry about "holding the reset button" so that the memory is safe. There really is no other baseball game (or possibly sports game) on the NES that will top this game.

Take it from me, Kruzer, it's the Greatest NES Sport Game of All Time!!

Nice review, you explained why this game is great, very well. Your review should probably be categorized, but that's just me. Anyway, great review, keep up the good work.

Kruzer : This was an interesting review, very different to what I would usually read.

This was a very good review, I thoroughly enjoyed reading. You really went into depth, didn't you? Very Interesting. You developed your points well, you give evidence for your points and explained them, which is always nice to see.

I would say to break down your review. It's all packed together like an ice molecule. Use paragraphing and really structure your review. Doing this will greatly improve your reviews.

Overall, I really liked this review and it was very enjoyable to read, putting the huge chunk of text aside. I hope you make more reviews and hopefully you work on what I said.

Good Luck!

Kruzer : Good job on your review dude. I liked playing this game for my NES. It is a good baseball game to play. I would add a little more content to the review though. Other than that, you are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Great review bro! One of the best I've ever read (and trust me, I've read plenty of reviews of a number of games on this website). I'm really glad you're already getting the hang of this. But anyway, of course you know I have played this game plenty as well. My favorite part about this game is if you take the time to make one of the created teams better, than you can make a team that's even better than the Fireballs. It takes a while, but its worth it in the end.

In my opinion, it IS one of the best baseball games, not just for the NES, but EVER. However, it is definitely NOT the best sports game ever...not even close. That title (remember, in my opinion) belongs to Tecmo Super Bowl. I'm sure you remember that game. You should try and play some of the hacks on this website. Its WEESUM lol!
