GRAPHICS Graphics are completely fine, there are no errors, no glitches, no replacements, no tile errors, it's all fine. Pokemon games are mostly focused on Pixels, so lets just say that the pixels/graphics are great. There's one little problem with some Pokemon sprites, and a good example for this are the Start Pokemon (Mudkip, Treeko & Torchic). They are originally meant to be small Pokemon, so their sprites are meant to be small. In the original Pokemon Emerald, the sprites aren't that big, but in this hack, the sprites are quite big... Front sprite and back sprite. But that's not a huge error, it can be ignored. ---------------------------------------------------------------- SOUND Sound is the same, just like in most of the Pokemon games. Since this isn't a big hack, i don't think there will be any major changes, like the music changing etc,The sound's tempo is fine, pitch is fine, nothing bad to say about the sound/music. Battle music stayed the same, the music is in time. ---------------------------------------------------------------- STORY The story hasn't changed at all. It's stayed the same, just like the original Pokemon Emerald. In my opinion, the story, at first, is quite interesting, because there's many places you will need to go too, fight lots of trainers etc. But the more you play the games, the less interesting it gets... Since you would already know the purpose of the game, and you would know where to go and how to beat the game. But this is my opinion. The story gets repetitive. Fact being, the story length depends. For little children, I'm guessing it would seem quite longer to them, unlike some other people may think the story is to short. Like i said, the story hasn't changed, it's stayed completely the same. Don't expect anything new to happen. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Addictiveness I find Pokemon Games quite addicting nowadays, but I am more interested into Pokemon Hacks. I'll call this one a hack. It's just like Pokemon Emerald, but this hack is harder to beat. What i mean by that, is that Gym Pokemon are higher levels, wild Pokemon have higher levels, trainers are harder to beat, and you will see evolved Pokemon early in the game. Also when you want to have a re-match with a trainer or Gym Leader, there levels will increase A LOT (At least +15-30+). I like hard and challenging games, so I should say, this game seems addicting, and worth playing if you like hard games. Comparing this with the Original Emerald will have a big difference in the difficulty. Not to mention, you can catch all 386 Pokemon in this game, in grass, caves, waters, all around Hoenn! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Depth: Pokemon Emerald never seemed that long to me, maybe because I seem to play it a lot, and i tend to use the space bar all the time. But that's not the point. This is a lot longer than Firered and the other GBA games. Like I've already mentioned, this isn't a big hack, and no major changes, meaning the story length and depth has / would stay the same. Length of the game has NOT been made shorter and has NOT been made longer. It's the same as the Original Pokemon Emerald, so don't expect the depth to change in any particular way. ---------------------------------------------------------------- DIFFICULTY I've already said a lot of the games difficulty. Yes, it's a lot harder than it seems. It's a lot more harder than the original Pokemon games, and the original games seem to be easy for some people. This hack is a harder version of Pokemon Emerald (The Original). The wild Pokemon levels have increased by at least +3-9+. Trainers have overpowered Pokemon early in the game. You will encounter evolved Pokemon early in the game, Gym leaders are a lot more harder to defeat, and the Elite 4 & Champion are extremely hard to defeat. There's a lot to expect with the Pokemon Levels. The Team Aqua & Team Magma grunts (If you don't know the teams, they are teams of villains to try to awaken legendary Pokemon) will have a lot stronger Pokemon, and will not all be using the same Pokemon over and over again. ---------------------------------------------------------------- OVERALL Overall, this is a Pokemon Emerald hack, and in this hack, all Pokemon and all trainers have been made a lot more powerful and a lot more harder to defeat. The story and depth has stayed the same, along with the sound and graphics. Since this isn't a big hack, there's not so many changes, but there are some changes i would like to point out. Pokemon Trainers / Gym Leaders / Elite 4 and champion are a lot harder to defeat. Their Pokemon will be overpowered, but are still possible to defeat. Wild Pokemon will have higher levels, meaning you can train faster + gain more levels quicker. The starter you will receive at first, will be all Level 6. Pokemon which need to be evolved by trading will evolve at level 40. (Kadabra evolves into Alakazam at level 40) Rematch trainers/gym leaders will be a lot more harder to defeat, and their Pokemon level will increase by +30 maximum. All 386 Pokemon will be available to catch in this game, and even all ledgenderies. All trainers in the whole game have been edited; their teams will be a lot different, they will have new Pokemon, with higher levels. Team Aqua and Team Magma grunts will not be using the same Pokemon over and over again, they will all have new Pokemon, also with higher levels than their original team. Most hacks have a few errors and glitches, but this one has hardly got any. There's only 1 you may need to be aware of... It would be recommended if you play as a male character, since your Rivals team (Mays team) will be edited (She will have new Pokemon, and higher leveled Pokemon), but if you play as a female character, your rivals team will not be changed and would have the same Pokemon, and the same Pokemon levels. I give this whole game a 9/10. It's a simple hack, but some changes would really improve this game. Maybe the Towns to change slightly, and the story to change slightly, but i understand that the point of this hack, is for it to be harder than the original. Wow this is a very well written review, it is very lengthy and detailed which are all the good quality signs a review should have, I am glad your review and you go into depth on why you rated each category that particular score instead of a 10 which explains the reasoning behind it. I think that is very good to do, and you kept me interested throughout it, and it is very easy to read and very well organized and broken down into sections making it better and easier to read.
