I'm going to review Mr. Driller. "Ah dang it, he pulled another Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on us!" Yeah, I couldn't resist. Anyway, the story is the apparently blocks are invading the surface once again from deep underground. Not aliens, not asteroids, not mutants, not rancors, but BLOCKS. Mr. driller does not like this and wants to put an end to this! You can pick 2500 ft, 5000 ft, or infinity ft. Anyway, the gameplay.
You drill by either hitting the A or B buttons. The X blocks, however, take multiple drills to break and breaking them costs 20 air. And speaking of this, you have an air meter. when it runs out, it's game over. Just kidding, you'll just lose a life. If you run low on air, an icon will appear next to Mr. driller telling you that air is running low. Luckily, there are these air canisters scattered across the game.
If there's nothing supporting the blocks in midair, they'll fall. If a block passes through you, you lose a life. The cute graphics are always pleasing. Like how You jump out of the way when there's space to the side and a block is about to crush you. It only works when your're not completely under the block, though. The sound is also pretty good too.
Final verdict, this game get my 9 out of 10! Any negatives I could come up with would just come off as mere nitpicking! If you have a game boy color or Game Boy Advance SP, I think you should hunt down a copy. I hope this game manages to get on the 3DS E-shop!
