i think megaman would win because he could just blast him wile sonic needs an emrald for his power

I'm surprised Sonic isn't winning this.
I totally vote Megaman, though.
I saw a thread like this on another site (Sonic versus Link) and all of the Sonic fans were taking up arms because a few Link fans claimed that the fight had to be realistic (so Sonic couldn't run at mach-whatever like he does in the newer games) and it ended up turning into a HUGE flame war.

Anyways, glad to see that that's not happening here.

I'm gonna play both sides for a bit. While Megaman does have Flashman's power to freeze time, doesn't Chaos Control (or something like that...) freeze time as well? Also not to mention that if Sonic collects all of the Emeralds (just as Megaman has to collect the robot bosses' abilities) then he would have temporary invincibility which he could use to get in some attacks on Megaman before he could fight back.

Back on Megaman's side, worse comes to worst he just jacks in, shoots at Sonic, then jacks out. Jacks in behind Sonic, shoots, jacks out. If Megaman kept up that process, he could kill Sonic without even using the powers of the Dr. Wily's robots.

If we're talking about gameplay-wise, then obviously Megaman. Megaman starts out all levels being able to take quite a number of hits. Sonic starts out dying if he touches an enemy without rolling or jumping. Right at the start, Megaman could shoot Sonic and kill him.

Hmm. Am I nerdy for having thought out this fight so much?

Mega Man can track Sonic and shoot where Sonic will be instead of where he is/was

Ignoring that, with no powers except what they have, Mega Man shoots at Sonic repeatedly (his buster cannon never runs out off energy), Sonic runs around and around and around.
They keep this up for many years, but seeing as Mega Man is a robot he doesnt age.
Sonic would. Poor Sonic slows down with age and gets hit.

I actually thought of something Sonic could do to defend himself for a bit.

Scenario:

Using all 7 chaos Emeralds (to counter Megaman having 6 or more of the Robot Lords' abilities) he could go into the Super Sonic form. In this state, he is invulnerable to ALL attacks of ALL forms. Megaman uses his time freeze, Sonic is frozen as Super Sonic - invulnerable to attacks. Once time freeze wears off, Sonic could use his Super form to get some hits in on Megaman before he ran out of rings/energy/whatever and reverted back to normal Sonic. Keep in mind Super Sonic flies straight through enemies, so even if Megaman used LeafShield or something similar it wouldn't help.

I'm still a die-hard Megaman fan, though, don't get me wrong.

Are these emeralds of sonic able to run out? Because there are scenarios where megaman CAN avoid it until it runs out. Then the raping begins.

Well, if we are talking about classic Sonic like in Sonic 3 (cause I don't know about newer Sonic, if he is different or not) his "Super" form is powered by how many Rings he has.
One ring equals about one or two seconds of time he is able to remain in said "Super" form.

i would say megaman becuase he can stop time,bomb sonic,has shields to protect him, and he can restore health with e tanks

MegaMan. No contest. Sonic can run and go super all he wants, MegaMan not only has Time Stop, he has the Flash Stopper and the Centaur Flash as well. Then, there are the Metal Blades, the Gemini Lasers, the Gryo Attacks...

... Sonic's screwed.

Although, in Sonic's defense, doesn't he destroy about 2,000 robots per game? Well, none of them are as strong/ cool as MegaMan.

And... Wily could kick the crap out of Eggman any day. So MegaMan wins even in terms of villians.

Hehe... Well, technically, there are 5 MegaMen, and if the rumors about the Techno series can be beleived, there's a sixth on the way...

ok i like both megaman and sonic but here are my reasons why sonic would win:
1. He has the element of surprise with his speed. although megaman has TONS of powers, remember they can run out if he doesn't have any weapons tanks so he's basically limited, Whereas with 1 chaos emerald sonic has plenty of energy.

2. Sonic can stay super for as long as he can. Remember in Sonic advance when he was stranded on the moon for a week, a freakin week! So even if megaman used flashman's power, as i said before it's limited.

3.Sonic has other forms too. Werehog Sonic, Dark Super Sonic, Darkspine Sonic, etc. what would each form do to megaman?

4. He's got a freakin Swordah!

Megaman by far, theres no challange in that decision. Sonic needs a lot of build up until he reaches his speed so within that time Megaman would blast him to smitherines.

sonic big time, he could use chaos control and completely wipe mega man out. mega man is awesome and all but sonic is definatly the best choice
