Hello, everyone! This is my review of what I think is one of the best retro games to play here. My user name may be PacmanandMariofan, but I don't just play or review Pac-Man or Mario games, I play and review other video games and video game series as well! I've played this game for a few years and I still love this game a lot. This version of Galaga is very similar to the NES version, but I prefer this one over the NES version.
Graphics: 8
All the graphics are somewhat similar to the NES version except the enemies. The enemies in the other versions of Galaga have a little more detail put into them. But other than that, the graphics are perfect in my opinion!
Sound: 9
The sound in this game is similar to the NES version of this game as well. But in this version, the music is slightly slower and the pitch is a little different as well. I'm amazed by how the sound turned out. I haven't found any version of Galaga that sounds as smooth and perfect as this one. The creators of this game did a magnificent job!
Addictiveness: 9
The addictiveness of this game can vary depending on your skill and how much you like this game. Whether you're good at this game or not, chances are this game is going to be very addicting for you especially if you're one of those people who won't stop playing until you've gotten a new high score or at least made it to the top high scores list. I think it's very unlikely for people to not be addicted to this game, male or female.
Story: BLANK
There's no story to this game. I'm not really surprised about that at all. Lots of old, classic games like this one have no story. They're just for fun and the only reason everyone plays them is to try to get high scores.
Depth: 8
This game actually does have a lot to do. You get to shoot enemies, avoid the enemies' missiles that they throw down at you and try to get high scores on the top score list. You can also get your ship captured and if you shoot the enemy that's carrying your captured ship, you get your captured ship back and it automatically gets moved right next to your "replacement ship". So you get to play with two ships at once which really comes in handy especially for the challenging stages! I've heard that there's actually more than 100 stages POSSIBLY 200! I don't even know if the game ever ends! So yeah it has a lot to do and if you can actually beat the whole game (if that's possible), you better be able to get some major reward for it or else you'll have done all that hard work beating it for nothing!
Difficulty: 7
I'm not talking about the difficulty of beating the game (which I just mentioned might be impossible), or else it would get a 9 or 10, I'm just talking about the whole game concept. The game concept isn't that hard at all, you just have to shoot enemies with missiles and try to get high scores. But the difficulty, like the addictiveness, varies depending on your skill.
Overall: 9
This is the best version of Galaga I've ever played. The only problem I have with it is that I can't pause it. Everything else about this game is perfect in my opinion! You should play this game after reading this review if you haven't played it already. Hopefully it will become addicting to you, but not so EXTREMELY addicting that you can't stop playing unless you're forced to!
Well, that was it! Thanks for reading my review! Replies and ratings would be greatly appreciated!
