Full kitchen (6), All movies/TV shows (4+6=10), Internet (10+16=26), all video games that have been released and will be released over time (26+4=30). Best 10 Million I ever made XD. I mean seriously, I would pay to do this (although I wouldn't do it for as long as 10 years ) |

Forgot to add, it's not clear whether you need one thing with another. For example, to have internet you would most certainly need a computer (6+16). That's 22 points right there. Yu would probably also need a TV for video games, 11 points total.
But take it how you want it, I guess. But take it how you want it, I guess. |

Cyro Xero : Okay, so here's my question. If you half your pay, do you get 5 extra points, or is that meant to be 35 extra points? That would actually have an impact on what I'd do... Anyways, just the 30 points: Full kitchen (6), TV (7), video games (4), workout room (5), library (4), hygiene set (3), pool table (1). Fast Food w/ Chick-Fil-A - 5 Pts
Computer - 6 Pts Games - 4 Pts Puppy - 6 Pts Garden - 2 Pts Hygiene products - 3 pts Surround Sound System - 4 pts That's what I would choose. And, with that - I'd still get the full ten million. I think the biggest issue that I would have would be not being able to talk to my best friend. I couldn't do it unless I could talk to him. There are a good chunk of video games for the PC too Technically, the movies, TV Shows, and Video Games could all require the PC or the TV. There are a good chunk of video games for the PC too Technically, the movies, TV Shows, and Video Games could all require the PC or the TV. |

Okay, so let us make this into what is probably most realistic. This will will most likely change your answers, and make you chose more wisely.
There certain things you need in order to use others. You can't play games without a TV. Sure you can simply collect and store all the games you get, maybe read the instruction booklets. But unless you hook up video cables to your brain to see what you're doing... good luck playing. You also cannot use the internet without a computer. The internet is only an addition to the computer and not a stand-alone item. And I'm not sure you'd be able to play games online since it's probably a type o streaming information. Since I haven't posted my set up: -Full kitchen (6) -52' TV (7) -Skylight (2) -All video game (4) -Workout room (5) -Hygiene stuff/jacuzzi (3) -Medical care (2) -Pool table (1) Total=30 I gotta have a skylight. I couldn't live in an enclosed area for 10 years without seeing the outside. I'd want to see the clouds and sun and whatever weather there is. I know that snow would most likely block all light during winter, but it it has sides then I'm golden. There certain things you need in order to use others. You can't play games without a TV. When I first read this thread, my immediate thoughts were "Oh, how easy!" While I STILL believe the decisions were easy, I was definitely left with some regrets once I 'ordered' all things. All kidding aside, I can't image why there would be a 'need' to pay me for this. With so many incredible offers to get me through those ten years? I would gladly take part withOUT being paid $10 million. The ten million dollars would only be a totally awesome bonus! Although it sounds pretty harsh, I tell my mother all the time that I would love to hole myself away from everyone. To get to do that and be fed, cleaned, etc without working to earn those things? Sign me up! Of course, I'm assuming that there is some way to take care of sewage... otherwise any participant would die rather quickly... So, here's what I ended up with: Kitchen (24 points left) I absolutely could not do without this. I'd hate to eat nothing but fast food for 10 years. I just did that for about 2 or 3 months, and gained 20 pounds. Even with exercising though, I'd feel like I was poisoning my body. Cooking would be a fun way to waste time, and with unlimited ingredients, you could experiment all you wanted! Skylight (22 points left) This was probably the LEAST negotiable item for me. I'd HAVE to see the outside world somehow. I generally don't like being cooped up outside, and I could use up many hours quite happily, just watching the weather from below that window. Workout Room (17 points left) I get to be fit for 10 years, with nothing getting in the way of a workout schedule?! AWESOME! Library (13 points left) If I ever got bored of reading (which I doubt I would do), this would at least give me the opportunity to have paper to write on, also. Of course, I'd have to find some means of getting ink. But with a full kitchen available, I'm sure that wouldn't be hard. I'd probably do equal amounts of reading and writing. I love to learn, and I'd be able to record stuff! Cell Phone (10 points left) While I'm not a HUGE proponent of technology, and while I'm not easily amused by such things.... I would have to have this simply for the sake of keeping in contact with my family. Computer and Internet would allow that, of course, but I'd rather contact them ONCE a week, than to have them at my fingertips every second of the day. Plus, I'd have the temptation to sit on my butt browsing the Internet and doing everything with it. I'd waste so much of that 10 years..... so yes... a phone limited to once a week is perfect! Hygiene Items (7 points left) This was my second most non-negotiable item. I'd go crazy if I couldn't keep the place and myself absolutely clean. I guess there's not MUCH opportunity to get dirty, but still.... Greenhouse (5 points left) Although I get the best ingredients from all around the world already (thanks to my miracle kitchen!), I'd still have to have this. I love nature and I'd need to have this in order to stay sane. I'd probably bring my books in there to read nearly every day, and I'd probably even sleep in the greenhouse quite often. Besides that, a greenhouse requires someone to tend it. Bingo! I have something to do with more of my time! And this is where I struggled..... I wanted so many other things. I wanted a kitten.... I know I'd have to clean up after it and all that, but I can't imagine leaving my darling Dorito for 10 years. I'd need a replacement cat just to feel some sort of companionship and love. However, there weren't enough points for this, and I wasn't willing to get rid of anything above. I also would have ADORED the workshop. In fact, I'd probably enjoy the workshop more so than the kitchen. The problem is that food happens to be a necessity, and the ability to build things with your own hands doesn't. XD I actually wanted to be a construction worker when I was younger. I love, love, LOVE to build things. I love to use tools. I love to put things together. I could probably do 30 years in isolation with a workshop. XD But alas... not enough points, and I wasn't willing to get rid of anything. Then, I figured it was pretty stupid not to buy into the stock market option. I mean, play your cards right and you could walk out of that hole 10 years later, and so much more richer than $10million. The only problem is that I know absolutely nothing about investing, and with so little contact with the outside world, it would be difficult to predict what stocks to buy or sell. Of course, with the cell phone once a week, I could convince my family to put me in touch with someone that knows there stuff. And I could learn how to play the game. But 10 years after this experiment is over? I'll be 10 years older. Depending on when the project starts, I'll have anywhere between 35 and 55 years of my life left. I'm pretty certain $10 million could get me through that many years. And then, I figure I always could invest, and use the extra money for good causes. Bah. The stock market was too disappointing to even consider after that, and so I just bought what I could with my remaining points. That how I ended up with satellite radio (3 points left) and a microwave with microwavable foods (1 point left). There's nothing I wanted to spend my last point on, since I'm not really interested in playing pool by myself. I guess I could still take it though, just in case. I'm sure I'd use it at SOME point during the ten years, even if I just wanted to use it as a bed, and do something else with the other components. The satellite radio would allow me to listen to gospel and worship music, while keeping up to date on the latest news. I'd feel connected to the world and not 10 years behind by the time I got out. And the microwavable food would allow me to take a break from cooking if I ever felt the need to. I'd just have to be careful to stay away from those foods and fight the temptation to always be lazy. Cryo... I loved this thread, in case you couldn't tell. XD Of course, I'm assuming that there is some way to take care of sewage... otherwise any participant would die rather quickly... XD |

thing1 : I take it you mean you give up all your money, since thats how you get 40 points? If you give up all your money, i cant really see the point. Lol at barry bonds, thatd be funny. Some things i cant see the point though. A gun, or a pooltable for instance. I really cant say if i would accept this deal, but if i did: Skylight (2) I am not a basement dweller, i need light. That being said im not entirely sure how a basement gets a skylight?Oh well... full kitchen (6) Id rather not have to cook myself but theres no way im surviving on junk food, yuck top of the line computer (6) Purely for the games All games (4) With every game, past present and future, id hope i couldn't get bored kitten or puppy (6) puppy, i would want some kind of companion library (4) I like reading, and it kills time. Maybe id learn some handy stuff in those 10 years I take it the garden with greenhouse is still undeground, and using artificial light? To that extent it wouldnt do anything for me. 2 points left... Satelite radio(2) At least that way I could know what was happening with the world. =30 I take it you mean you give up all your money, since thats how you get 40 points? Time to make my list... TV (23 points remaining) This was a pretty simple choice for me... considering i'd want to keep up with the my little pony franchise and all the other cartoons i enjoy to watch.. plus it's much cheaper than the Internet/computer bundle Movie/TV bundle (19 points remaining) I'm torn between this being a good idea and a pointless one... after all i'd love to be able to watch any film i want at any time and i'm pretty sure you cant get a service like that on the tv.. plus once the ten years are over it'd be worth a fortune Gym (14 points) Despite the fact that i'm not an athletic person.. i still love to take part in sports and exercise.. plus it'd give you something to physically do whilst you are in the basement unlike pretty much everything else described.. Hygiene produts (11 points) If i'm going to be exercising a lot i want to at least be able to clean myself afterwards instead of smelling like sweat for 10 years.. plus 10 years is enough time for you to get all sorts of fungal infections from poor hygiene.. Skylight (9 points) Mainly to keep track of day and night... and to make sure that i don't lose track of reality... and to keep the morale up Medical care (7 points) Sadly this is a mandatory pick for me considering my epilepsy.. otherwise i'd probably end up having a fit and falling awkwardly and killing myself without my medication. Video games (3 points) TV can get tedious and as some one who has grown up and played games all his life. it has to be picked.. also some games can last up to 100 hours plus... so it'd be a great time killer/. Microwave and meals (1 point) I'd need a source of food and this fits perfectly.. it may not be the best thing to eat.. but it's probably far more enjoyable and has a larger range than fast food in my opinion.. plus when i get out i wont be addicted to expensive fast food as well Pool table (0 points) I actually like playing pool so this would be fun to master whilst you are bored... i guess it'd offer a tiny bit of mental activity as well when it comes to the angles needed to pot the ball and what spin you should put on it to move to the next ball... That's me... i'd have picked the internet and the computer... but that leaves you will like 8 points and i wouldn't be able to video chat with people so it'd be pointless... I would Choose Full Kitchen(6) I do like fast food, but if I am going to live there for 10 years I would like to eat other things. TV(7) I like TV, and I get to play video games. Sky Light(2), while I don't mind being in a dark basement, I would like some light. All Video games(4), Mainly why I picked TV, I just love Video Games. A cell Phone(3) Family is important to me, so I would like to keep in contact with them. Medical Care(2), Since I will be living there for 10 years It would probably be good to have a doc to make sure I am healthy, plus I need to take medication too, so it will be a good choice. A Puppy(6), Something that keeps me company, and keeps me from going insane from isolation. For me, I might actually want to do that, but ten years is just too long but it's not that bad. |

mohammedroxx3 : The point of this is more to say what you would use your points on. This is going to be really hard, and there are some things that I don't want to be missing, but I can't fit them in. I'll be using 35 points, because it would be too hard with only 30. Kitchen (29 left) - I would have much more selection with this over fast food. Gym (24 left) - I don't really work out much, but I would need to work out, because I don't eat enough healthy food. TV (17 left) - Ten years without sports? Heck no! I would go insane not knowing how my teams are doing. All video games (13 left) - Yeah, without video games, I would be bored all the time, especially since I can't afford Internet right now. Hygiene stuff (10 left) - Something that is pretty much a must. Sky light (8 left) - Although I feel that I could do alright without light for a while, but ten years? Can't do it. Cat (2 left) - I wouldn't be able to go ten years without seeing any other living life form for the whole time. And I like cats better, so that's my pick. I'm also guessing that the pets come with food. And last, EDIT: If a microwave comes with the kitchen, then I'll take the Satellite radio instead. patar4097 : Surely a full kitchen would include a microwave? I dont know of many kitchens without one. austipokedude : Lol, what are you going to eat, barry bonds?Hes a big guy but i doubt he will keep you going for 10 years.
