Me and my friend are trying to make a game, and have need some help with deciding on something.

We are having a hard time deciding whether we should first make a "prototype" game using RPG Maker 2003,
so people can get an idea of what the game will be about. We will then go ahead and start making it into being 3D.

Or if we should just make it into a 3D game to start.
This will take a lot longer, but in the end, the outcome will be the same.

Any input will be considered.

I really have no clue about making games but I have played more games then one person should so if you tell me like what kind of game you are planning to make or something like that I could give you some ideas or stuff.

We are planning on making a "monster capture" game,?similar?to Pok?mon, that is based on various mythologies.


There will be 3 different groups you can start with, each one representing different mythologies.



Here is a brief overview of the back story:


In a world where the boundaries between true and false have long been broken, the limitations of ones power rest merely in their own faith. Religion is dominant in this world.
Those who lack faith lack power. The three dominant religions have wiped out all but another in their rise to power. Legends foretold of a champion who would bring peace to the

world, capable of capturing essence of faith itself. As such, the Tilimataru, G'ilga, and Nihilo have been in wait for this special person. 
What they didn't know is that the legends spoke of multiple people capable of this feat.



Fear. Agony. Chaos. War. These ideals shape this world, engulfing it in a bitter state of turmoil, where death in the name of faith is an honor. In this world, there is no hope.
