Here is the WrestleMania 29 Pre-Show Review. I will make an actual WrestleMania 29 Review later this week... Pre-Show So, to start off the Pre-show, Vince McMahon shows a few of the major landmarks of New York… The Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, and MetLife Stadium. Meanwhile, the entire time, “I’m coming home” was playing before hand, and the entire time he was showing us around New York. After J.R. And a few other legends talk for a few minutes, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter have a promo for Jack Swagger’s title match against Alberto Del Rio, and they transition into his promo nicely. Both are very adamant that they will come out the champion. With Jack Swagger saying Alberto Del Rio does not belong in America because he was not born in America, but born in Mexico, he spews propaganda. Alberto Del Rio says he came to America, got his citizenship, so he is America. Personally, I take Del Rio’s side. After the “announcers” and Kofi Kingston talk about that match, WWE transitions into its WM promo showing everybody holding a sign saying how far they came to see WrestleMania, with “I’m Coming Home” playing in the background. Then, The Brock Lesnar versus Triple H in a No Holds Barred promo. The same promo: Triple H found a reason to fight Brock Lesnar, and put his career on the line, when Lesnar attacked his father-in-law, F-5’ing him, and causing Vince McMahon into having to get hip surgery. After Kofi, J.R, Dusty Rhodes, and some other guy talk about the match, they cut to the parking lot to see fans going crazy while Tailgating. After this, Miz is talking to Snooki, the social media ambassador. Wade Barrett walks in, and Miz and Barrett keep telling Snooki what to tweet about their match. They have a verbal Twitter War… It was actually funny and amusing. Afterwards, they go to the confrontation 2 weeks ago between Ryback and Mark Henry when they had their Bench Press contest. The record was 51, Mark Henry had 53, Ryback had 53, was working on 54, when Mark Henry pushed the bar on top of his throat. Then, Mark Henry gets a back stage interview, getting asked if Ryback could be one of the few that could possible match his strength, and if Ryback has a chance at WrestleMania… Mark Henry simple states that he is going to induct Ryback into the “Hall of Pain.” Then, a promo for the Press Conference that happened the previous Thursday, with “I’m Coming Home” in the background… once again. Now, a CM Punk versus Undertaker promo. It starts off with Paul Bearer’s memorial being interrupted by CM Punk. CM Punk steals Paul Bearer’s urn, and disrespects it for weeks. Undertaker says that the streak may come to an end, but that CM Punk will never live to talk about it. CM Punk says He will be “The 1 in 20 and 1.” Then, right back to the parking lot to ask the fans what match they are most looking forward to. Then, a Randy Orton, Shamus, and Big Show against The Shield promo. They show the shield attacking each Superstar. Then, they show Orton, Show, and Shamus retaliating the next few times they attack the three. The Shield keeps claiming that is a story about Justice… but if you ask me… what exactly is the justice they are talking about? Shamus, Orton, and Show have all had history… J.R. predicts that The Shield will win, because they have been a team longer. Intercontinental Champion chip Match: The Miz v. Wade Barrett (c) The Miz comes out with his normal ring entrance… nothing special. Then Wade comes out, and he does not have a special entrance either. The match starts with a bell, and Barrett takes control early. Then, Miz has his turn in control, but not long before Barrett counter’s. They then go back in forth for awhile. A near fall after Wade Barrett counters into a “Winds of Change” when Miz charges. Miz kicks out at 2… gets up, and gets put into a Figure 4… only to be broken by the ropes. Wade Barrett gets Wasteland…. Kick out at 2. A unique take down… Barrett gets put back into a Figure 4 lock… only to tap not 10 seconds after he gets put into it. Result: The Miz wins the Intercontinental Championship for the 2nd time via a Figure 4 Lock submission. Match Length? About 7 minutes, I think. Then, the 4 announcers talk about the match between John Cena and The Rock. Kofi says that this is a must win for John Cena, especially since the WWE Championship is on the line. Dusty Rhode’s says a few words, and predicts a Cena win. They finally cut to the main event’s promo… the same one we have seen for the past month. John Cena says he cost himself the match, and not one day did he wake up and not think about it for the next year. They show Cena winning the Royal Rumble Match. Rock says he only wanted to face Cena at The Grandest Stage of Them All. They show Rock beating CM Punk for the WWE Championship, and him reveling his new WWE Championship belt. Cena says he has accomplished ever single goal in his career, except him (referring to beating the Rock at a PPV, I presume). Rock responds that is won’t happen. And with under 5 minutes left until the start of the start of WrestleMania, they end the Pre-Show. I've done said something on the Facebook page, and I am trying to figure out how to call them now. |
