Do you think it is likely that Kim-Jong Un will follow through on his many threats of open war against the United States? Personally, I don't think it will happen. An attack on the U.S. by a small nation such as North Korea, when North Korea is considered militant by so many nations, would be frankly suicidal. Personally, I don't think it will happen. No I don't because I don't think they have the resources nor the capability to get a nuclear war head of the coast so never mind across the Atlantic and or Pacific ocean. And I don't think any nuclear war heads produced by North Korea actually work. |

Seriously though, I don't think he's stupid enough to actually launch any missiles. I see it as sabre rattling to make himself look tough. Seriously though, I don't think he's stupid enough to actually launch any missiles. I see it as sabre rattling to make himself look tough. |

I don't think they will launch an attack as long as they remain on their own, however if they make allies with similar views they may risk it, that is unless they have no sense of self preservation and want to me seen as a martyr for their cause |

I guess you really never know, especially since a newer regime is running things. Usually though N. Korea is a lot of talk and no substance.
That being said, I'm sure that countries near N. Korea are a little concerned about what they are doing these days. Once the U.N. puts more pressure on them, I think they will calm down a little. Would you spare a country that ate their own young? Litteraly?
"Propoganda" is an old term. "Brain washing" is the reality if you give it enough time. I have no idea how realistic that society can be if the old agenda still stands. Answering this question without backup is tricky. Guessing is not an option. I say leave this matter to the professionals. We Paid them. Let them handle it. Our tax dollars still pay for something. Right? Good luck to all. Peace. "Propoganda" is an old term. "Brain washing" is the reality if you give it enough time. How many of these North-Korea threads we need here people? And no, I don't think so. You have to understand how their propaganda system works and blah blah that I said on the other thread here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=55325 But sure, you Americans go and knock them out. It would be more justifiable than the Iraq war and Afghanistan wars combined. The whole country is nothing but a nation wide stalinist death camp and even its old allies like Russia and China sees it as nothing but a nuisance and an embarrassment. And no, I don't think so. The media really screws with everyone's minds. North Korea does not really have as many nukes as you think. Pakistan and India (Just for some examples) have more Nukes than North Korea will ever be able to threaten us with (Or so I heard). And hey, we are talking about a country who threatened to blow up the sun. I really don't think they will attack. I believe that they are all talk. I also have faith in American special forces (I'm even Canadian) considering they assassinated Osama Bin Laden. I'm sure the States will be able to do something about it if something does happen. Maybe along with other countries help like Canada and Russia. |

Honestly do you really think they will sent a nuclear attack... if they do America will strike back.... and considering America's landmass is far more significant than north Korea... Korea is more likely to just be eradicated |

Honestly, I don't think so... but you never know. I do know that America has more "powers" as you say I guess than Korea so they would practically be destroyed. |

Regardless of the fact.. You guys seem to assume that if they launched a nuclear missile everything would be fine and dandy.... You'd be looking at a barren wasteland where the bomb hit for at least a decade.. North Korea would probably get eradicated.. But it'd still cause a lot of damage to other countries involved... Plus if North Korea get backing from one of the major nations that could be the fuel to make World war 3 Of course I'm over- dramatising it, but it's more realistic than.. We have more bombs we'll be okay lulz Plus if North Korea get backing from one of the major nations that could be the fuel to make World war 3 Of course I'm over- dramatising it, but it's more realistic than.. sonicmcmuffin : That would be assuming North Korea actually have the technology and ability to fire the nuclear missiles upon another country which would be more or likely South Korea. It would be very unlikely they could send more than one missile without the retaliation of america. |

Time to be blunt!~
Kim is nothing more than an angry member of the Lollipop Guild trying to impress dear, dead, daddy. He will give threat after threat, but will not act. If he does act, it'll be on a USA controlled island, not the main USA. Plus, if he DID actually hit main USA, North Korea will recede back into the Sea of Japan faster than they can give a celebration shout on their hit, Nya~. Yeah, all the talk about this stuff is very annoying to me. Kim is nothing more than an angry member of the Lollipop Guild trying to impress dear, dead, daddy. I think we're all missing a few factors that need to be considered when looking at such a predicament. North Korea is an ally to China, regardless of whether or not we think the Chinese think of them as a nuisance. It is very likely that the Chinese are behind these actions, or at the very least, they are not condemning them, and I think that's important to note. Consider that they are moving their military towards the border, and that could mean they are preparing to launch some form of military action (be it offensive or defensive) against North Korea, or they could be preparing to honor their treaty and defend North Korea in the event that we do attack. Either way, the Chinese play a much more crucial role in this situation that most people give them credit for. I'm not even convinced that Kim Jung Un is calling the shots. I believe he's a puppet, either being controlled by Beijing or some of the North Korean military leaders. I even think Iran may have something to do with this, considering some of their top nuclear experts have been photographed with the North Koreans. I do not think this is a coincidence by any mean that they've been emboldened in some way. Which leads me to my next point... If North Korea is acting crazy, trying to call the attention of the United States and the entire world to itself, what is going on that we don't see? What's Iran doing? What is Israel doing? Why is North Korea shooting off fireworks now, when the stage is set for major conflict to go down in the Middle East? I think our eye isn't on the ball here, and if North Korea is serious about this threat, we need to neutralize it quickly, or else, things won't be pretty. I'm not sure if America is ready for a two-front war. Even if they aren't "serious," they sure are acting like it. And even if they can't hit the American shore, we still have thousands of American soldiers in South Korea, Japan, and Guam that are potentially in harm's way. Don't be tricked into thinking that there isn't more than meets the eye here, and don't be deceived to believe that there is no real threat coming from the North Koreans. Just because their past actions have indicated they are bluffing, you never know when whoever is calling the shots is going to say, "Now's the time." I'm praying for our soldiers and the people of Japan, South Korea, and even North Korea, because if this escalates any worse, there's going to be a blood bath. No, I don't. As a soldier, I do not think North Korea will lunch a nuclear attack on us. We have the anti air missiles, anti nuke missiles... we got everything we need to defend ourselves from a nuclear attack. |

pray75 : The fact that the chinese military have marched to the border of NK I believe is just in case the feces hits the fan, they will try to stop the hoards of NK refuges to cross the border. I think that is what they care about and that only. They have economy that is doing good and has been doing pretty well for a decade or so and they don't want anyone to ruin it. But if you have some facts about how the chinese are the real masterminds of NK I would like to hear about it. If the ruskies and the chinese sanction it, I believe you should take NK out. Now. And be quick about it. Brigand : I definitely agree with you on that the Chinese are probably setting up for a mass influx of refugees, but I most certainly don't think that's the only reason. I'm most certainly not one to trust the Chinese government based on the history of their relations with the United States, though I'm not sure if they are so foolhardy as to get involved on behalf of the North Koreans if we do attack - at least not overtly. In respect to the prospect of having "proof" that the Chinese are the "real masterminds" of North Korea, you have to again consider the past. In the Korean War, China basically funded and manned the North Korean military, similar to the way they did during the Vietnam War. If it wasn't for China, North Korea would likely not exist as a state, as the combined force of South Korea and the United States military would have overwhelmed and conquered entire Korean Peninsula. China most certainly hasn't forgotten what they have done for the North Koreans, nor will they allow the North Koreans to forget it. Not only that, but they are one of the biggest providers of the North Korean armaments and technology. The only thing that North Korea can bargain with in this case, at least as far as I can see, is political power. So, from my perspective, North Korea is indebted to China in some form or fashion. As far as having absolute control over Kim Jung Un or the North Korean military, I'm not sure. But they most certainly are playing a role in this by being somewhat soft against the North Koreans. I can't imagine a scenario where they would ever be ignorant to what North Korea really intends to do. I mean, I could be wrong, but power is an interesting thing that politicians and leaders like to play with. Not only that, but I still think that something is going on behind the scenes. North Korea shakes its fist and lights its fireworks for what purpose? They chose this time for a reason. There is something going on, something that is more than meets the eye, and I'm sure our intelligence agencies are more keen to it than the average citizens are, but it's still something that needs to be at least questioned. And most certainly because the media is so attached to the North Korean problem, it should be especially clear that something else is happening.
