Hey everyone, welcome to the Christian Conservative Forum on Vizzed.com. This thread talks about the purpose, features, and rules for this thread. Please read this before posting anything on the thread.

  3. Rules and Guidelines

Purpose:

1. To provide a place where Christians can fellowship one another in finding common ground in gaming entertainment as well as their faith.

2. To provide an open and safe place for both Christians and non-Christians to have dialogue on religion, theology, ethics, truth, etc.

3. To provide a place for non-Christians to ask questions and objections about Christianity and an opportunity for Christians to answer them.

4. To provide a place where Christians of different backgrounds can discuss about social issues and secondary issues of theology.

--Prayer wall A thread where anyone can post prayer requests for people to read and pray.

--"Hallelujah! Center" Devotional Thread

--Christian Flash Games made by Davideo7 on MyBibleGames.com

--Monthly Christian related Viz Competitions
       -Pictionary
       -Bible Trivia
--Others.

Rules and Guidelines:

Follow Basic Board Rules:

Even though this is a rented forum with a specific subject matter, it is still a requirement to follow the overall Board rules. Members of the Board should be familiar with these rules (especially since everyone is required to take the Newbie Quiz before posting), but in case you have forgotten, please refer to the FAQ & Help Center page. Posting rules are also located on the left side of your screen when you make a thread/reply:

-Use Proper Spelling/Grammar!

-Always proof read your posts!

-Vizzed is Family Friendly!

DO NOT: Swear, Spam, Flame,

Advertise, Post Porn or Insult

Simply put, there is no good reason for any member to say "I don't know the rules"

RESPECT

Be respectful towards one another. Even if different people disagree, you can still talk to each other as human beings and there is no need for flaming or hurling insults towards each other. Good communication from both sides is the key to a healthy debate. It is important to note that telling someone is wrong does not mean that the person is intolerant towards you. Do not create a victim out of yourself just because the other side disagrees with your view. However, degrading someone because they believe differently is intolerant.

Questions and Objections Towards Christianity:

We encourage non-Christians to use this forum to ask the Christian community questions about Christianity. I don't have a problem with people asking questions or start a debate about these things. I don't even have a problem if these debate get intense (assuming that people are still following forum rules). However, this forum does not tolerate people who make posts with the sole intention of causing trouble and hostility. If you're intentions are to cause hostility and not to discuss issues, do not even try to pretend that you don't know what you are doing. It can be pretty obvious when someone is trying to cause trouble in the forums.

It is also not good to throw claims and opinions around without having any support or reason for it. For example: If you were to say that "the Bible is bogus" without any reason to back up for it, then you are just hurling baseless insults without any desire of finding out whether if it is true or not. (I've talked to people who would throw false claims at me just to see if I would feel stumped and not to find out if there is an answer for it) Best way to avoid this is to not do a search on objections to Christianity and post the first thing that you find in your search. Do a little more research on those claims before you post such claims.

Discussion on Secondary Issues:

Many Christians come from different backgrounds and denominations that there are different views on secondary issues. These issues are related to Christianity and the Bible but are not the fundamental beliefs that define what it means to be a Christian. Topics like Calvinism vs Arminianism, Infant Baptism vs Credo Baptism, ways to do communion, end times theology, etc. Discussion of such issues should be done so in a healthy manner, with sides making sure that they are to debate reasonably without hurling insults and trying to kill someone. It is beneficial to post scriptural references if there is support so that others can check and see.

Grace Policy:

As a Christian, I believe in developing this community to a community of grace. We understand that communicating online may cause misunderstandings that may cause people's emotions to flare up. Posters who violate posting rules (whether if it was accidental or intentional) would initially be given warnings as opportunities of second chances. If the poster continues to commit them or neglect to heed the warnings of the moderators, it may lead to the consequence of requesting other moderators to ban one's profile. The purpose of this is to promote the intention of having a open, safe location for different people to communicate, but also leave room for some mistakes.

Note that there are certain forum rules that have zero tolerance policies and are subjected to automatic ban or perma-ban. These actions have no grace policies and the decision of banning due to these rules would be made by the local/global moderators and up.

Not A Church:

One thing that is worth mentioning about this forum is that Christian members should not use this forum as a substitute for church. The purposes of this place are for Christian gamers to fellowship with other Christian gamers as well as provide an open and safe dialogue between Christians and non-Christians. That being said, this place is NOT a church and should not be treated as such. We have an Online Bible Study and devotionals, but church services are not to be done in this forum. I encourage those to find a local church for in person fellowship with other Christians. However, you can use this forum to ask like-minded members who live nearby to help you find local churches that are appropriate for you.

Everyone's Guidelines:

These guidelines are to be followed by EVERYONE who post in this forum, including the moderators (local/global) and the owner. Staff and moderators are given the?responsibility of ensuring that this site is operating in a smooth, family friendly, and fair manner. It is with this responsibility that these people (including myself) are to also be good examples to the rest of the community, not just to go through the motions, but because it is right and responsible to do so.

It is also important to note that punishments are given by the basis of whether someone violates the rules of the forum, NOT based on your personal beliefs. As moderator, I do not show favoritism. As long as you follow the guidelines and debate in a logical and considerate manner, there should be nothing to worry about.

If there are any additional questions, feedback, or request of clarifications on the rules, contact the local moderators for details.

I totally agree with these rules, however I find it ridiculous of the thought of someone replacing their church with a forum.

BluemageKyle : You'll be surprised. Some people would make excuses that that counts as church, when church is not only a time to receive good teaching from the pulpit, but also to fellowship with other Christians.
