As some of you are aware, I have a super busy week.  However, play4fun and I have a LOT of plans on things to implement here..... things that will make this place better, we hope.

Thus, we will not have new rules drafted until next weekend some time.  I wanted to let you know that we will both keeping any eye on the place during the week, so simply be sensible and follow vizzed rules.  While we consider  the things we want to do this week, if you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them here in this thread.

geeogree :  I'd be most interested in any input or suggestions from you.  I'm pretty sure play4fun and I can come up with the standards, but your experience and maturity may include things we would not think about.

Davideo7: Can we do a custom forum title thing like the other rented forums?  I haven't asked play4fun how he feels about this yet, but I wanted to know if it'd be possible, first.  I'd like to do something like adding a cross to the title bar.

Just want to stress the whole 'be respectful of others and their opinions' thing. Also, I'd say please don't hate on Christians here. It's a Christian forum, not a hate Christians forum. Debates (I'm sure) are fine, but keep it respectful.

yeah, I would mostly suggest that since the forum is now a private forum and a Christian forum that the expectation is that the people who choose to post here are respectful in their conduct.

No one should be obligated to agree with everyone in this forum and healthy debate is encouraged. There will always be people who come here for the sole purpose of creating tension and hostility and they will likely just get bans from the forum (if I had my way). I don't know if David can update the ban system to allow for a permanent single forum ban or if he has to do that manually.

geeogree :  Yup, the concern you mentioned was one of our biggest concerns and one of the things we were going to stress the most.  Things tend to get out of hand, and people don't know how to sensibly discuss things much of the time.  Thanks for the input!

Singelli : yeah, when this forum was just part of the board we were a bit more relaxed with the rules and enforcement to try and not allow any prejudice or censorship/silencing by the christian members.

However, now that it is a private forum the mods can be as strict or as lenient as they want to be.

geeogree :  Well luckily, play4fun and I both believe in letting everyone have their voice.  There will be no silencing of opinions and certainly no prejudice.   It's the tones and ways of addressing things that will be closely monitored. I believe healthy discussion is important.  Us Christians, especially, should never shut down an opportunity to speak about Christ, and to not allow opposing opinions is denying the right to teach and learn.

I plan on strictly enforcing appropriate and respectful behavior.
I also plan on bringing more activity to the forum.  I'm thinking of moving my monthly competitions here, but they aren't Christian based, so I'm only considering it.  It probably won't happen, and if it doesn't... I want to start a new strand of monthly competitions that ARE Christian based.

We have other plans, but that's the only one I'm going to put out there.

Glad to see the effort to keep the forum controlled. I'm sure you two will do a fine job modding here. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes.

Singelli : I see a big difference between that and what a lot of people do when they post in here though.

Most people come here just to be inflammatory and for no other reason. I'm probably meaner than you guys are but I don't have time for that. I would probably be getting rid of people faster than you guys will

I think the whole thing you got going on here SIngelli is great. I agree with a lot of the views Christians believe it, but I am personally agnostic. I think there should be a section on Christian views, and that this forum not be dedicated just to Christians. I believe that users have a right to voice their opinions while still being respectful of others.

I'm in the process of writing up the rules and purposes right now. The main thing that I hope this forum does is to promote discussion of the beliefs of God and Christian beliefs. Calling it a Christian forum does not mean that it is only for Christians, but we welcome others to voice their opinions as well. Between Christians, there can be talks of theology, ethics, and even simply discussion of our lives. Between the Christians and the non-Christians, this would be a place where people can ask questions or objections while Christians can have opportunities to share the gospel. The one thing that we won't tolerate are those who blindly make claims on things as well as troublemakers who have no desire in wanting to discuss things reasonably. These standards will enforced for both Christians and non-Christians.

Singelli : I would like a change on the label picture as well (and a color change on the title depending on the picture) 

I could probably come up with a decoration for the forum if everyone is fine with that. I'd probably do something simple like a simple silver and white cross pattern for the background and a gold title.

Davideo7 :  I don't have any problem with that personally.  I trust you to come up with something classy.  You might want to ask play4fun if he likes that or my suggestion better, so it's a fair vote.  My idea was something akin to my layout shop... (white cross to the right, white text, and black bar). However, I think I like yours better.  Not sure, as I'm not usually very good with putting things together visually.

Oh, and make sure geeogree is okay with it as well.  

Singelli : I basically just want something simple but something that still stands out and gives the message across that it's a christian forum. Too many users have requested some crappy background and font color combinations for their forums which makes it look sloppy or hard to read. I also want to avoid the types of situation where a user sends me a ton of different backgrounds to try out because that results into me investing a ton of time helping that user figure out what looks good.

New updated rules will be coming out today, along with any additional threads that are planned to be added in this forum. When that rule thread is posted, I will be removing this thread and the discussion of rules can continue in that thread.

play4fun : with Singelli gone right now this forum is sort of yours to run actively.

David and I will post and moderate and what not but I feel like you should take more of the initiative with this forum.
