I've decided to make it so that all email addresses are hidden from everyone except Globals and up. If you chose to have your email hidden from non staff, than your email is only viewable by Admins and me.

The reason for doing this is to help prevent users from abusing the privilege of seeing each others email addresses. I figured this wasn't a big loss to anyone because no one needs to know another user's email address when they can just PM them.

I think it's a good idea and won't harm anyone.  Like was said, nobody NEEDS to know other's addresses.  If someone chooses to post it in their profile, that's their own decisions and any risks associated are nobody else's fault.  Thanks for the update, as it certainly makes the site more secure.

I like that it now restricts to staff, or globals and up. It really is safer, and a good idea. I know that if I wanted someone to have my email address, I would just pm it to them.

Some users do choose to hide their email and for those who do, their email is only viewable by Globals and up and it'd be pretty unlikely that someone who is part of an inside job would make it up to global.
