Ok, so I'll start it off by saying I have not overdosed on these things. Yet. I'm trying to be good but these 12 hour shifts are murder.

I'm taking pain pills-down to the Tylenol/Codine (*sigh* I miss the Oxycode) but that's probably a good thing considering I'm back to work, yeah. Someone recommended the 5 hour energy to me when I said I was having trouble staying awake at around hour 9 or so. I tried them and they seem to work really well-awake and energetic without being jittery or spasy and there wasn't a drop-off point; it just seemed to gradually wear off, which was perfect.

So. Anyone have any idea how safe these things are...and can I take another one after 5 hours if it's a really bad night?

They're good for giving you an occasional jolt. I am actually addicted to Monster right now and I'm trying to quit.

Not an overly good idea to combine them with medication, Google it to see if it would check out. It could wreck you if you're not careful with it.

You can go ahead and take another , I just wouldn't advise you take 5 in one day, because that's 25 hours, what in the world will happen after that?

According to this review: http://www.pain4glory.com/5-hour-energy-drink/

5 hour energy has 200mg of caffeine per shot. Taking 500 to 600mg of caffeine a day is when you can start seeing some serious side effects and health concerns. 5 hour energy also has 2000% daily value of vitamin B6 and the 8333% of B12, that is not a good thing especially if you are taking in multiple shots of it a day. What is the side effect of that? Headache, dizziness, fainting, yellowing of skin, and temporary nerve/brain damage according to them. So I guess the conclusion here is one a day is fine however 2+ more a day for a month straight you are going to run into problems. 1 shot you are overdosed on vitamins, 2 shots and you are close to overdosing on caffeine, 3 shots.... might as well use cocain its safer for you.

Yeah, the people who run the company say they recommend no more then 2, but I would stick with one, because I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to ever have 8333% of the daily recommended amount of ANYTHING.
