So who is it? Westbrook? Deron Williams? Rose? Kyrie? Rondo? Chris Paul?

Also, if you had to choose one point guard to start a franchise would your answer be different?

My answer is D Will. He is a good shooter, ball handler and defender. He is big enough to take hits in the paint and can really be unselfish when he needs to be.

However that's this year. If I had to pick a guy going forward it would be Kyrie, Jrue Holiday or Damian Lillard.

I was just having this conversation with someone...

If Westbrook took better/less shots he would be hands down the best. He needs to get to the point where he is shooting closer to 50% on a nightly basis. These 7-25's and 5-21's are killing his fantasy value and his real life value to the Thunder. Plus that's too many shots(especially if Durant took less).
Trust me, I'm this close to agreeing with you. But I feel until he "figures it out" he just as liable to lose a game rather than win it.

I've heard the argument that he needs to score for them to win. Well you have a great Shooter/Scorer in K Mart who has a very short leash who can barely get over 9-10 shots a game. Plus if he was that important as a scorer wouldn't Scotty B move him over to a wing in situations and let someone else get them into their offense? I don't know. Just a few questions/comments about it.

Also... D Will is no longer my choice. Maybe out of the top 5 after this year.

If you are talking about this year, I am surprised you didn't even bother putting Parker in the mix. He leads the league in FG%, 2nd in Shots made, 4th in assists, 2nd in FT attempts and makes, and is the big reason why San Antonio has the best record in the season right now. I don't think D-Rose should be considered in the conversation for this season. I also wouldn't pick D-Williams. He even admits he is not playing in an All-Star level this year.

Chris Paul. He has helped completely turn the Clippers around. I haven't seen another PG that good recently.

I think that Chris Paul. He is very good, if not in the top 20.

I actually say Parker, I wonder why you didn't include him man. Anyways, I'd maybe say Russel if I couldn't chose Parker.

Now I am leaning more to Russle Westbrook because of how he has been playing.

Rose. He is amazing and lead the Bulls to the number 1 seed in the NBA. But with the torn ACL in the first playoff game, He didn't play a game this year too.

I think Rose would be a pretty easy choice if he was healthy. Now Westbrook is hurt too, unbelievable.
Tony Parker is great but I think it would be a stretch to say he is the best. Curry has had a strong 2nd half putting him right up there.
A lot of great Point Guards in the league but at this point my top 5 for this year would look like...
1. Westbrook
2. Curry
3. Paul
4. Kyrie
5. Parker

With D. Williams and D. Lillard just outside and Holiday

As for Jeremy Lin.... well besides those 8 I named I would take Rose, Rondo, Wall, Conley, Lowry, Jennings, Dragic, Rubio, Kemba, Lawson, Parker all over  him. And those were just the ones I didn't have to think about. So to me he is, at best, 19th in the league.

Did you guys totally forget about Rose? He is one of the best in the game right now, despite the injury. Westbrook is pretty good too, but he needs to work on his shot a little more. Tony Parker is the bomb digedy, even though he is like 20 centuries old in the NBA. Another hurt PG is Rondo. He is one of the best passers in the game right now. Jeremy Lin had his time of fame in New York, but he kind of went downhill after he got traded. But I think Rose is one of the most versatile point guards in the game. There are plenty of other good point guards in the league, but these are the best in my opinion.
1.)Derrick Rose
2.)Rajan Rondo
3.)Tony Parker
4.)Kyrie Erving
5.)Damien Lilard

This is just my opinion, so you have the right to differ with me!
