I was watching the video game awards last month, and the game that struck the most of a chord with me was "The Phantom Pain" by a new studio, Moby Dick Studios.
The game deals with an armless man who awakens from a coma, and trys to escape a hospital infested with visions of supernatural horrors and an invasion of an unknown group of soldiers who begin to kill everybody on site. Another patient helps him on his way out as the soldiers move away, and using stealth to be un-seen.
The screen goes black and text fills with the mans thoughts, and he questions whether or not he's dreaming. And then for some reason, a giant robotic monster becomes engulfed in flames and attacks the hospital.
It looks really awesome but a little too well done for it to be made by a new developer.
Much like everybody else, I figure that it's actually Metal Gear Solid V in disguise or without the namesake. So here's a few reasons why I figure that it's MGSV:
1. The graphics look hilariously just like the FOX engine that Kojima has been using.
2. The owner of Moby Dick Studios, "Joakim" Mogren's first name is an anagram of Kojima.
3. The studio's website was registered 2 weeks before the game was announced, how can they come up with something so amazing looking with only 2 weeks, and without being recognized on the internet?
4. During the awards, Moby Dick Studios was in the VIP Konami Seating Area.
5. The text "Metal Gear Solid V" in the same font, fits perfectly above the words "The Phantom Pain" in the logo.
6. Main character greatly resembles Big Boss/Solid Snake.
7. The stealth scene looks like something that was ripped directly from a Metal Gear Solid game.
Kojima has done lulzy things before in order to sneak a game out, is this another one of his elaborate ruses?
So is this game really Metal Gear Solid, or is it a perfectly done nod to Kojima and the Metal Gear Solid series?
Either way, the game should hit sometime this year or next year, and it looks pretty awesome.
Also, should this thread be a duplicate, tell me and I'll close this as soon as I can.
