Gible to be honest, It evolves into a quite strong dragon type, I guess a few would go for riolu purely because lucarios fame and not its actual power in a battle.

I would say pidgey. Most of the time, your starter is always a fire, water, or grass type. You even got to have Pikachu as a starter in the yellow version. A flying-type Pokémon as a starter would be a different change of pace.

But let me say, if I could choose ANY Pokémon as a starter, I would pick Larvitar, mostly because Tyranitar is my favorite all-time Pokémon. I just think it looks really cool and its really powerful. None of my friends that I battled with on Gold and Silver ever took it out either.

Gible, he evolves into an awesome garchomp which can learn great moves and have awesome attack or 394 at max and awesome hp which can reach 420 at max which are both really high. Plus I like dragon types, they are the strongest and they have great moves like outrage and dragon claw and more, and since it is garchomp which is ground type, it can also learn earthquake which is another awesome move. I like dragons and this one in particular because they are really powerful, have great moves, and also not many are effective against it except ice and itself. I am disappointed that fairy type Pokémon which are a new type, are going to be effective against dragon type. That just sucks.
